The whole world seems to be against me, nothing's going right. Feel as though I should end the pain now, what with all the pressure on my shoulders, with my mum having the "C" word, and school work piling up, is there any chance it gets better after the age of 14?!?

I really just cannot cope with it anymore :(

Not much, but was a surprise to be honest.

there is no school work at 14.

Get a punch bag and vent yourself. Or get into couple of fights. You loose some and you win some but heck you feel better after

In Scotland, Yes there is.

maybe talk to some teachers. They will actually listen and help you organise your work. if its too much tell them you need longer.

Yeah, things will get better and what is happening now will be making you in to a stronger person so stick with it.

Child line are always there to listen if you need to talk to somebody about anything

honestly at the age of 14 your hormones are doing your thinking, not your brain.
Maybe get out and socialise more, get a girlfriend, get into fights even, whatever is your release, do it.
You should never feel like that at 14, i went through a phase of not liking myself and wanting to hurt myself as a release...im not violent person but i ended up getting in a few fights...many which i couldnt win (generally several on one dont work well).
But honestly life gets better, much better, you just need to realise what is important to you, whether that be friends, family, etc and just embrace that, make a bigger effort, learn to ignore the things that annoy you and get support in any way shape or form you can.

But whatever you do get a life plan, get your gcse's then decide what you want to do with your life, what career, what you want to do, what you want out of life, what you want to see, do, travel, the world is your oyster, it just might take some time and some work.

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark

At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark

Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown

Walk on walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark

At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark

Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown

Walk on walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk

You'll never walk
You'll never walk alone.

You gotta keep your chin up mate.
No matter HOW bad it is right now, it will at some point get better.
Unfortunately it might not be as quick as you want it to happen, but it WILL get better.

I have been real low believe me.
I had the perfect life .... a nice house, a fiancee who was a model, a limited edition monte carlo escort cosworth car, money etc. I was really living the dream.
Unfortunately the fiancee cheated on me (twice), so i lost her and with her went my job, then my car and then my house!
As if that wasn't bad enough (i dont know how i got through it), my dad who then lived in america, then got the "C" word.
he lost his business, house, everything and had to come back to England and live with me.
I had to see him deteriorate and unfortunately he passed away 2 years ago.
That was the hardest time of my life BUT...... i now have a good job, a wonderful girlfriend and kids and i remember the good times that i sharded with my dad.
I'm not gonna lie, it still hurts and i miss my dad terribly but with each new day, the pain eases a little and each day does get easier.

I suggest you might think about getting some councilling.
I did and ended up going for 18 months and it was the best thing ive ever done.
A year after my dad passed away, my eldest son was still finding it hard so i arranged for him to see a councillor and it made all the difference to him :)

Look into it.
It REALLY will help you.

Just PM me if ya wanna talk more about it :)

DDTA, i been through nearly the same thing and I'm still here, i just cherish the time the person is with me. I have felt down, i quit college for it and everything keeps going wrong but always keep thinking it can only get better!

Don't let it get to you too much, talk to someone you can trust about it (something i didn't do) and now i regret not doing it.

If you wanna talk to me, then pm me, but just keep your chin up

Speak to your year head at school. Mention everything you have here. There are things in lace for people like yourself. One of them is called Time For You, which gives you chance to speak to a trained person who comes into the school. Unless they think you are at harm, or are going to do harm to yourself for real, they won't disclose what goes on when you meet together. Its a little like Counselling, which I know might sound extreme, but it really does work. I have referred lots of my pupils to it over the years, and they are usually grateful for coming to speak to me in the first place.

It will get better and easier, but take all the help you can get now - there is no shame and it will make you realise you aren't alone :)

Cleaned up, no more argumentative comments please. If anyone posts anything inflammatory please report it rather than jumping on it.

DDTA, try and keep your chin up fella, everything's going to seem pretty bleak at the moment but just keep moving through it, you'll come out the other side a stronger person.

had this copied since the thread went kaput.

When i first joined this site i hardly ever went out, I had mates but never went out to see them, no girlfriend and was starting to get unfit, my gran had been diagnosed with the "c" word again and i felt like you are now. My gran passed away a few days after Xmas and I was feeling really down from then. A few months afterwards, my aunty also was diagnosed with it and also she passed away at the end of May and i marked this as the change. I started to go out more, i got on the football team, started to get fit again, got a girlfriend (broke up about a month ago but still all good) and last friday i went to a party, the first ever party of this kind. Came home at half 11, got drunk and let loose, it was one of the best experiences of my life. I know there will be times in the future i am down like you are but i'm going to try my hardest to overcome them. Then i come on here and hear all the age jokes and people taking the mick all the time but that would of got on my nerves a year ago but i seemed to be more laid back now. Chin up mate. It'll get better.
#37
Mate, you will be fine, I know its hard, I know more than others, was in a very similar situation to you, I know its hard to look forward into the future and see yourself happy, but things do get better.

Im 20 now and things are ok, so I hope things work out for you.

If you want a chat anytime, pm me and add me on msn or something k.

There are lots of people here for you.

school years should be the best of your life, unfortunately for most they are the worst I promise it gets better, but not before you've met the woman of your dreams though. Before that it's just hell....pure and unending hell! on earth!

Awww darling , it is a tough time for you, and at 14 your hormones are everywhere. Talk to your teachers or even a doctor telling them how you feel. I think you will be surprised with the support thy can give . Im here if you wanna chat xxxxx
