Just been looking online to try and find out who is selling the pudsey bandana's so I can get one for my son to wear on Friday and found lots are selling on ebay for over £5 with no proceeds going to charity!

Now I found out boots were selling them at £2 so I guess they have been bought already but I just think its wrong that people are willing to pay over the odds when its not going to charity, am I wrong?!

If I can't find one then I would rather send him in a non pudsey bandana and stick a fiver in the pot then give it to someone on ebay!

Wouldn't the sellers have given to charity by buying them in the first place?

Charities exist as a source of employment and profit. The good they do are insignificant by comparisson.

That may be synical, but in general, its quite true.

I wouldnt say insignificant but you do have a point.

e.g. RNI Blind salaries

The following numbers of employees received total emoluments within the bands shown.

Didnt Wogan take a big pay packet home for each night of Children in Need too? What a hypocrite! :x

Each time I see some of those obscure charity collectors on stations waving their buckets, I just wonder how much of that ends in their pocket. I'm not implying they steal it...... just that a big percentage finds its way to their possession by way of wages.

Obviously it doesnt apply to everything..... many do give their time free. Others exploit and make their pockets as deep as possible. - Like Mr Wogan as you'd suggested.

It maybe actually completey the opposite, the charity may make even more money out if it.

As stated above if genuine they have already been purchased and the cut going to the charity. If they are not available online / overseas etc then ebay is providing another outlet for these that may not be currently available therefore increasing the market for them.
