I can't believe this has happened to me...

Well at the moment me and my boyfriend struggle to pay the bills each month and are pretty hard up.

We got our gas bill which was £170 which is fine coz we save money each month to go towards it and had enough.

I phoned the automated payment line, put it my card details and it said 'sorry we could not process your payment at the time'. It then put me through to a customer service advisor who said 'sorry we are having problem with payments today'. She took my card details and said 'sorry its still not working, can you try back tomorrow please'.

I checked my online banking. Now £100 overdrawn...yes British Gas have taken 2 x £170 out! (£340!!!). I thought ok, must be a simple error. Phoned them and they said no payment has been made on my account. When payments are made it comes up instantly British Gas end....

MY MONEY IS IN LIMBO!! so I am £340 down and havent even payed my Gas Bill. The bank doesnt know where my money is and niether does British Gas.

Can anyone else see that this is going to take weeks and weeks to sort out, ive given it a day already, have to fill out a visa missing payment form at my bank tomorrow. Why do these kinds of things happen to me?!!!:w00t:

If it comes out that it is indeed british gas, they will pay overdrawn fees.

Aw, I agree, bad things always happen to the good ones. Hope you get it all sorted. Keep your chin up.

Ring them both up again and lay into them, tell them you don't think it is funny that you have to pay OD fees and you want to know who is to blame.

Don't sit on it and ak them for a rference number as you might like to refer to it at a later stage.

I've had a good one today!

Payday today, and I checked my online bank and the amount that had gone in was around 25% less than normal. Rang the payroll helpline and it was because I was off sick for 7 days in March, and as I've been permanent for less than 6 months, I don't qualify for sick pay, so they've taken those 7 days back!

Problem is, I'd been here so long on temporary contracts before I went permanent that my manager told HR to waive the 6-month probationary thing, but they screwed up and obviously haven't. So now he has to sort it all out, and I want the other 25% of my pay back! :x

I went to the cash machine to draw out £250, and it doesn't give tenners, so I had to put my card in & get £240 out !! Damn machines !!!

An update...and things are getting better!!

Managed to get a whole refund four days after loosing my money.
Paid my Gas Bill again and it went through OK.

Today received a letter from the Valuation Office. Council Tax Rebanding SUCESS! Moved from a D to a C. I expect it will be backdated to November when we moved it but we are just about to lose our one person discount coz i'm not a student anymore so moving down a band will really help :)

Oh and i have a meeting with a job agency today to try and get some temp work so fingers crossed for that too :)
