Went to a bunkbarn last week ( we all ended up being kicked out lol)
However while there under the influence of some alcohol, i jumped off some stairs, not very high probably about 6 , and then the height over the banister.
I thought the floor was carpet but it was like stone under a plastic, and landed funny on my foot and went straight down on it!
I ended up hopping around for the night and then two days later I was still in pain so I went to the doctors and he thought id fractured my heel so sent me to hospital.
They took an x-ray, and said there was no fracture just a bruised heel.
Told me to give it some rest and take regular pain killers.
However up till Monday I was doing that. Im still taking regular pain killers, but now im back at school I have to walk more and it has begun really throbbing and giving me sharp pain when im sitting down in lesson, and when im walking i have to put all the weight onto my front toes as If i try and put any weight on the back of my foot e.g the heel it really hurts and gives way most of the time :(
Should I go back to hospital, even if its only to try get some aid walking ( she said last time theyu couldnt give me any because it wasnt broken)
or should I just leave it and see if it gets better, at this moment in time I am lying on my bed and it is throbbing quite badly :(
Btw it was a week and two days ago since I did it.
Thanks
Jack!

If you still had a headache or tummy ache 9 days after going to the doctor would you go back? I think you'll find the answer is yes, that's what doctors are for so go get it checked out again, they've been known to get things wrong!!

Now, I'm sorry for showing my age here, but what the heck is a bunkbarn?

Learn from your mistake.

Seek medical advice.

If you don't like the pain don't take the risk
#3
Phone NHS 24 or go to A&E... best to get it checked out!
#4
Get yourself back for another xray as soon as possible

Probably done your ligaments mate. This injury can be excruciating and the only way that it is treated is rest (foot up) anti inflammatories along with pain killers.

Not what I meant, I meant you've not covered ligaments yet and you were under the influence of alcohol. I figured you were like 12.

We did all this sorta crap in like 1st year or something.

But seriously, NO MORE JUMPING OFF OF THINGS.

Listen to your elder(even tho its only by 7 years)

You're 17, doing A Level Biology, and haven't touched upon bones and ligaments yet?

Advice: Don't drink underage. :)

Telephone the A&E dept you went to, and ask if they have a review clinic. If they have ask for an appt and explain your still having problems, and would like to be reviewed. These clinics are often led by consultants where your foot and xrays can be reviewed.( It will save you waiting to go back through the system.)
Hope this helps, If it is a sprain it can take sometimes several weeks to heal Rest, elevation, ice, is what you should be doing.

Thanks for filling me in, although it doesn't actually sound like much fun to me if this is what happens. I must remember to ban my girls from a bunkbarn when they get older!!

As a colleague of mine often says .. "Too many f*ckwits, not enough automatic weapons". ;-)

You will be given an appt time, you might just have to miss a few hours from school, get your mum to right you a note.
It's got to be better in the long run to get it sorted.
