I feel dizzy

Someone help meeeeeee. I have been feeling dizzy for the past few hours. Doesn't happen just when I stand up or anything like that, I even feel dizzy when I lie down.

I have eaten so shouldn't be low blood sugar or anything like that. It's started to make me feel a bit sick as well.

Anyone got any advice? I have googled but obviously that's not the best thing to do, it will probably diagnose me with a brain tumour.

yeah dont search symptoms online it would make anyone fear that they are going to drop dead in the next day. To be honest if you have been feeling dizzy for the past few hours you should consider calling the doctor on call or getting someone to run you down to the hospital. it really is better to be safe than sorry

I'm definitely not pregnant. If I go to sleep what are the risks that I don't wake up?! Haha. I did the self help thing on NHS Direct and it told me to ring a nurse, but then said something about my ears. Surely my ears can't do me that much harm until tomorrow morning?!

you should never ask for medical advice over the net if you have any kinda symptoms, it really is best to see a doctor.. i know its hard at silly o clock in the morning but if you feel worse get to the hospital. hope you feel better soon

I'm a miracle worker - not a doctor Jim.

Is it really that bad? In the films they say don't fall asleep.

I know but I thought someone might think of something really obvious, like had I hit my head and forgotten (obviously that's not it, I'm not that silly), so thought I'd ask just in case.

There is a wierd bug going round that causes this. My mum and friend had it, they felt fine after 24-48 hours.

Hi i am a doctor, easy test can you touch your toes and then stand up quickly? if you are still dizzy I would suggest a simple test spin round at least 20 times really fast backwards, that should clear it.

it might be a migraine, i feel like that sometimes, if you're still reaing this have a glass of water and lie down for a bit

i hope you get better soon :)

I had something similar last year, lasted a couple of days, went to get out of bed one morning and lost my balance, just felt constantly drunk, it was horrible! I was off work for 2 or 3 days and just led down on the sofa, couldnt walk around had no balance. It can be caused by a middle ear infection. Hope you feel better soon.

So many bugs about at the moment it could be anything. I'm guessing by your silence recently that you are either.........

A - Tucked up asleep. (Sweet Dreams)

B - Dead (RIP - You will be missed. lol)

C - Doing something else (Good on ya)

D - Still feeling poorly (Doctors is open now............jog on)

I have had this after a virus, have you had a cold in the last week or two?? mine ends a bit like that....I feel better and then feel that my head is following a couple of seconds later, I think its a warning to take it easy AND GO TO BED AT THE RIGHT TIME!!!

i had this a few weeks ago. it's called labyrinthitis and is an inner ear infection. took three weeks to go away, but pills from doc helped the dizziness.
