ah remember the days when you could though?

at 16 I was on a YTS earning £55 per week and giving £25 of that to my mum.

£600 month would cover my mortgage.. just my mortgage. It's an incredible amount of money when you have no bills though (congrats) :)

When i was a lad at 16........YTS was £29.50 and then £35 at 17. Luckily the place i worked topped it up by £100 a week. lol

Well done Pikachu. There is nothing like earning your first meaningful wage. I remember it and I dont think that there is a better feeling at such a relatively young age.

All I hope is that you are made to work hard for it. There is nothing worse than being fairly young and not realising that money in excess is a luxury and not a right. You work hard, you make money in my opinion.

Ditto the 35. £20 to mum, £11 driving lesson and £4 for bus fares unless I needed 'monthly' stuff in which case I walked!! Orrible. Hmmm, an idea forms... how much of son's £13 paper round should be taken for 'board' :w00t:

That's nothing.

When I was a lad, I used to work 25 hours per day, live in a shoe and get such a beating from ma mum for asking for 2 currants for tea.

Aye.... those were the days.
