I get my house keys today!!!

I finally get my house keys today, picking them up later after children are out of school.
I'm pretty excited by it all, probably as much as going on holiday.

It feels like it's took ages as it's dragged at times the past few weeks but looking back it's took about 3mths from when I decided that I'm not going stay in rented anymore and to go see about getting a mortgage.

I'd been round to view a fair few houses, have some stories to tell from some, but didn't think we find anywhere until I finally stepped in and knew straight away.

I've handed in my notice on this housing association home,so won't be moving for a good mth or so yet, didn't want to give tenancy until certain it's ours,as heard so much go wrong at last minute,
Least plenty time I hope to arrange decorating and whatever else I want doing.I Imagine it's going be a hard month ahead arranging things, luckily I already started packing and have about 15 boxes packed so got a good head start with things.

Bit of work to be done but I'm not decorating or anything,I hate the gloss fumes for starters and I always get out of it in past if pregnant lol.
Yeh 1 extra bedroom than I got here, plus a town I want to live at,amongst other reasons to live there like family etc.

No,but lived in Dover for 8yrs and be here for another mth or so now till my tenancy ends,so any questions you got ( saw your thread other wk about house buying here ) just ask / PM if you want to know anything.

Booger, was going to try to con you into taking a £2 round trip on P&O to get me some fags

Where you moving to then? We've had the survey done and and all our stuff should be completed by the middle of next month, so about 6 weeks in total, providing nothing nasty appears on the land registry etc.

Congratulations. I hope you enjoy your new home.

I've just started the long drawn out process of buying my first house and I know the complications that come with it so well done.

Deal cos thats where my parents live and most of my partner's family are there,I grew up there and have other reasons for leaving Dover.
We did consider staying put in Dover as it's a lot cheaper but it's just not for us.

The fags are not too much cheaper on the ferry, but I not been across for almost a yr,maybe things changed? Others make a bigger effort, further you go,cheaper they are kind of thing.
