I've been living quite a healthy lifestyle recently and frequently visiting the gym but I had sharp and prolonged periods of discomfort from my chest area, which lasted for about half hour.

I had a fitness test earlier in the week saying I'm healthy in every sense of the word, which is excellent considering how much weight I lost in the last year but I also remember my friend died several years ago in similar circumstances. RIP Ben.

Before anyone goes mad, I'm not saying I suspect I'm dying but do you think I should get this checked out or does things like this happen from time to time as standard?

reminds me of about 10 years ago...

I woke up with the most intense pain in my chest stomach... I was pale, sweating and nearly fainted...

My missus called a ambulance, as the door bell went and I was rolling around in pain, I let the largest fart I have ever produced out....

When the ambulance chick came upstairs, I was not only fine, but embarrassed as the room smelt like a elephant had **** in it..
#14

Could be cardiac or lung pain or muscular pain - even at your age best to get it checked out. You could ring NHS direct for advice

I was going to say young or old chest complaints are always taken seriously but they will want pics on here or your lying about your prof

Somehow....I don't think many people would like my chest on here despite being an avid gym enthusiast. :p

I had severe chest pain earlier this year for about 3 months. A&E and GPs fobbed me off cos if it was cardiac I'd be long gone and not driving to A&E and GP surgeries

Mine comes after exertion, strenous work. The diagonosis for me was musculo skeletal.

Also blood tests taken later showed I had severe calcium deficiency. Was given calcium supplements. I don't even take them.

Anyway, the moral of the story is see your doctor :giggle:

I'm 33 until monday btw. :p

"is that normal for my age".......... yes because when we all get to the age of 37.5, it is normal to get chest pain, or groin pain.....did nobody ever tell you. WTF sort of question is that?

Good for you, declared healthy, by who?. Healthy does not mean nothing wrong.

Chest pain...get it checked out, probably nothing but that is no reason to delay. Go to nearest walk in centre..if you are alive in the morning.

Never ever assume things with chest pain
