this is no doubt the response to the person who hates microsoft.
well anyone else who hates sony please leave a response on anything crap about them
i will start

PS3: total ripoff, not worth it, crap, not alot of great games, made by a bunch of tossers

Sony products: mostly made in china, which, as we all know are going to be **** and break very soon after you bought it. ALSO, sony just has to be difficult and have their own sorts of wires, scart stuff etc. so you have to buy them from sony. They just want to rip everyone of and eat up all your money

cont. please

Hmm, nope, maybe your just so gullible you accept the salesmans babble that you must pay £40 for a scart, £50 for a HDMI lead etc.

I used to have a 50" Sony, in fact I used to install tv's for a living (not Sony as we did not sell them), and you can use any cable, be it scart, component, hdmi, S-vhs, etc, etc that you want to use.

I would love to know where you get your info from, or please let me know when your next shop purchase will be and I will make sure I get a job in that shop just for the week so I can earn a lot of commission from you with all the overpriced equipment I will talk you in to buying.

China is probably one of the best Manufacturing Countires in the World now, and puts our Industry to shame.

Think I'd much prefer to buy something that is Chinese made rather than UK made, especially Electronic equipment!!!!!

sony rubbish .... dont make me laugh , the ps3 is probably overprice and i own a xbox360 dnt like it that much im gona buy a ps3 sooner or later.

SONY RULE IN GAMING

I disagree about Sony quality, it's usually quite good. What I hate about a lot of Sony electronics is how quickly they lose value... Just one example:

Ever seen an ipod discounted by 60-70%? No.
Ever seen a walkman branded mp3 player discounted by that much or more? Yes

and that's what makes me think twice about buying Sony again....

You know what to do there then mate, wair about 6 months then go and buy a good second hand Sony product. must admit I did wait till my TV came down to just over £900 delivered, only a few months before it was £1200. Then it got discontinued and you can now get them second hand for about £600ish.

No problems with any SOny products ive owned over the years, infact they last for years, my ps1 still works and a 15 year old walkman still going strong. Sorry must disagree with you
#12
LoL you work in the XBox 360 PR department or something...
LoL

I've had a sony CRT tv for 12 years now just wish it would die so i would have an excuse to buy a new 50 inch LCD but alas the darn thing keeps churning along.

I HATE SONY!
I do own an 360 wii and soon a ps3,
but they are an awful company forcing their rubbish versions of products onto us, so we have to buy the overpriced extras

They cause trouble with memory sticks, why not sd compact flash etc
Blue Ray instead of teaming up and creating a standard along with HD DVD, creating another VHS/Betamax war that is going to slow down the industry for the next couple of years.

I also hate Sony online for wrecking my loved MMORPG game Star Wars Galaxies, well not sony as such, but they did ban me for argueing with yanks online.
I love all their failed things:
PSP UMD disks
Betamax
Blue Ray - i hope - lol no porn on blue ray - that will kill it
I hope memory sticks and duo sticks go that way also

Why cant they team up a form a standard with the other major players
Even their Hifi is sub standard now
rant over

i love sony, i like to be different having a sony walkman rather then an ipod everyone has and the phones are mint.

I cant see nothing wrong with the competition sony is putting into the market. It allows the consumers to choose which format they prefer and offers an alternative, and that will determine the winner of the 'war'.

you qoute things sony have failed in but i love the way they will innovate no matter if they have lost with previous attempts. they have succeeded in more ideas than they have failed to take the world with.

lol, same here. I've had a massive Sony crt for years gives excellent picture and sound, but I want it to break so I can get a lcd.

I can't even give it away as its so big and heavy.

I have never had a problem with Sony Products and I tend to go for Sony whenever possible

Have had in past Sony Playstation 1, 2 playstation 2's, 2x PSP's

I currently have
Sony 42 Rear Projection TV
Sony Cybershot DSC Camera
Sony Surround system
Sony DVD Player
Sony Video Recorder (in the loft)

Have a 360 at the moment but would like a ps3 but due to cost have refrained at the moment

Ditto

Ill take if you give me £5 :giggle:

Hey this may be "hate sony" but really, why would you want to (i've read the reasons and they seem fairly petty)? Sony create quality products at realistic prices (price matches the quality) and all this rubbish about the PS3 being overpriced is ridiculus.

Lets just stop and think about it,
PS3 has 60gig hd with a built-in blu-ray drive at £424.99.
Xbox360 Premium price is £269.96 + HD-DVD drive at £130 = £399.96

(prices from Amazon.co.uk).
#20
Yeah but atleast MS don't force HD-DVD on you. I don't care for blu ray, I just want a games console!
#21
When it comes to mobile phones and digital cameras always choose a sony. I've always had good experience over the years

When I collected my Sony VCR from the local TV repair shop, he said to me:

"Ah yes. Your Sony VCR. It's not really a Sony. It's made by Samsung for Sony - it's got Samsung head, motors etc. Next time just buy a Samsung instead because it's cheaper."

Same could be said for Phillips, Many of the cheap makes are actually Phillips components but are the cheaper brand case and badge.

As for Sony being crap, I'd have to disagree!

I had a sony PS1 (who didn't!) and i had a PS2, Both worked fine and where being used nearly every other day!!
#24
My fatty PS2 bought a year after launch still works flawlessly.
#25
I must say i don't like sony or Microsoft they are 2 big companies that are trying to rule the world.

and yes i do have a xbox & a 360 and a ps1 &2 looking at a ps3 soon and i have a microsoft home based pc and loads of other sony products around the house so i guess its partly my fault they got so BIG.
#26
I hate the fact that the "Sony shop" is nothing to do with Sony at all. I bought a TV from the Sony shop and had horrendous issues with it. The Sony Shop refused to take it back so I contacted Sony themselves who said that the Sony shop can do what they like as there are in no way affiliated with Sony. Awful customer service.

I have had a PS1 and PS2 and loved them but no way will I buy a PS3 for that price! I want a games console and not a Home Theatre system.

So in essence Sony I hate them for everything but small electronics.

When you called Sony direct did you call them just to rant off over the Sony Shop or did you actually ask them to deal with it?

Either way if your tv was bought new with a Sony manufacturers guarantee (at present it is only 1 year), then Sony would have dealt with it and sorted you out, but according to the UK consumer law your tv should be fit for it's purpose and that is now recognised as at least 5 years of general viewing. If your tv goes bust within 5 years you are within your rights to get it repaired or at the very least a partial refund (the partial refund comes into effect due to 5 years of viewing pleasure from your current set).
