I've skipped breakfast today ( naughty ) and the kids just had fruit and these chocolate crepes for breakfast and I went down to do them lunch, beans on toast, and the oven was on!
Its been on since last night,my partner put in an Apple pie last night at 11.15pm,and just down there now and it still on gas mark 4! Been on over 12hrs omg.
Lucky it didn't go out and house full of gas. Never turn on lights if you smell gas,or do what a family friend did once, wake up smell gas and light a cigarette while checking the house.

I'm on the other side of the coin. I check things over like routine every night - I can't sleep unless I do!!!
Think it's got something to do with my mum setting the kitchen on fire with a chip pan when I was a kid!
Yes people if you do smell gas, be careful ... it might not be your OH for a change!

Nightmares for a few nights then!! Glad that nothing dreadful happened. What was the apple pie like?

yeah me too, i check every night and ask OH if the heater's off, the boiler off etc. i am also the type to check the door even though i have locked it, out of habit i guess. drives the OH nuts but i caught the oven being on unchecked (blames OH) a few times!

one time my obsession went into overdrive and before we left for holiday i accidentally killed the switch for fridge, when we returned a week later our good steaks had gone to ruin. on the bright side, it was good for fridge to get clean out though.

My O/H checks everything and it drives me mad, but i forget everything so it's just as well he's fussy.

yeh I consider lucky, can see me dreaming about it and waking up in a panic over it now.
Apple pie was good it was a M&S one,it good as you can get really apart from homemade of course. Apples not overdone but not hard, had fresh custard too, beats Ambrosia which we always keep in cupboards.

Well I check the back door is locked cos we in and out garden checking the rabbit,I check chain on front door and its shut properly.I check the heating on auto set up,cos sometimes we'll just turn it on and don't want to bake all night.I check my bird in his cage, check kids, deal with toilet, but now I'll be checking cooker from now on. He often does it makes a fried egg sandwich say and then about half hr later I can really smell hot oil cos he left stove on.

yes 30mins and oven straight off!

the sensible invention would be a timer/alarm for the cooker/oven. not sure why it's not the norm.

When I cook I turn off the oven before I get the tray out,he doesn't. My oven don't have a timer on it,my last 1 did though and I miss it,however I rarely burn anything.i don't think the timer make much difference for him.
Luckily we ok and we did get pie.

My oven has a timer on but I've not a clue how to use it!
My OH rolls his eyes at night cos I check and double check things so much, better to be safe than sorry... think our house would have self destructed by now if I left it all up to him!!!
My OH has a really irritating habit of leaving the hobs on ... it really grates me how he's like 'oh chill out' about it ... men!

We check the kitchen whenever dad uses it - he NEVER turns the hob or the oven off. Worst thing is he leaves the hob on a very low light, so you dont notice it and can end up with something or someone being burnt.

My partner did it not me,I'm way too careful to do it.

Hey if my partner keeps this up he can have the hutch outside and I'll bring bunny to bed.
