I know, not again, but I need to know what to get 360 or PS3

Morning guys and gals

I am stuck with what to buy, 360 or PS3, as the title suggests.

I dont want to start a fan boy war and know my personal situation may suggest which console is better for me.

* I don't watch many films, so prob wouldnt use the Blu Ray much
* I only want it for gaming, might not even play online

I had a 360 before and loved it (sold it like an idiot) - but something is telling me to get a PS3, prob because its Sony!!

Any suggestions?

After having to send my Xbox360 to Frankfurt twice within a couple of months I'd probably go for the PS3, because if my Xbox dies again it's going on ebay and I'll be seriously looking at the PS3

from what you say I'd say go for the 360 again

no point in buying something when you arent gonna use all the features so probs 360, plus as a pure gaming console the 360 wins...PS3 is an entertainment unit in general and has better exclusives

PLUS the 60gb doesnt suffer from RROD

ps3 if you can afford it, but value for money go for an xbox

i say ps3 becuase of the blu ray and little big planet
#4
buy both thats what we did (i know stupid)

If you wanna just play good games, undoubtedly the 360 man.

Far more ace exclusives AND I find the multiformats run better too - great library of cheap games available.

360 is also dirt cheap mon brave.

Oh God. These never end well.

I have both and I use the PS3 a lot more. But that's mainly because it's a lot easier to watch stuff on than the Xbox is (well it is for me anyway)

If it's games only, then I suppose the 360 just edges ahead of the PS3, but they are so closely matched, I can see it's a difficult choice.

Best idea.....flip a coin!

PS3 is great value for money even if it is about £300, But that is only if you will use it for Blu Ray/ music/ photos/ internet / etc, It is honestly amazing and im sure the games available are only using about 50-70% of its total capability!

If you had an x-box before and liked it and wont use it online i would def get the x-box!

No point spending double on something you wont use!

Exactly my scenario. That's why I love having both.

If its mainly for games then the Xbox - more games available and the xbox is cheaper.

If online multiplayer games - deffo the xbox

Games and HD viewing of films - then go for a PS3

sheesh what an experience.

think it's a 360 then, the price does help too

I too have both, the PS3 I do like over the 360 but i have to say currently the 360 has a better variety of games, but i still play more on my ps3. the PS3 has a few games which are good too but yes a lot more titles available on the 360. but at the end of the day from what you are saying i would reccomend the 360,

the ps3 can be a more future investment if you decide to get blurays, but you have stated you dont watch movies.

Before you do decide to buy i would reccomend you to look at the games available and those which wil be coming out this year which may apeal to you, no point in buying a console which doesnt have the game you want as its an exclusive for a competitor. best of luck.

yes i agree PS3 is more intuitive to use, however currently 360 has a better variety of games.
but i prefer the PS3 ;-)

Now just need to somehow get the 360 controller to work on the PS3

Dunno..I have an xbox but have been waiting for an excuse to buy the PS3...I was always a Sony fan and had the PS2 up until last year when I bought a 360. I LOVE my 360...never thought I would, I still want a PS3 though but tbh I dont see the point (and I REALLY am just looing for an excuse) with the exception of Blue ray there is no need for me to buy a PS3 right now, exclusives are better on 360 and everyone I know who has both always ends up playing the 360 more than the PS3...some games are even supposed to be graphically better on the 360 (Orange Box & R6 come to mind)

The 360 is easy to use and works nicely with the streaming from your PC (I assume this can be done with the PS3 as well though) and I have had no probs with the 360 at all, whereas my mate has had his PS3 replaced once and fixed twice now...I dont think the PS3 would be easier to use, at best it could be is the same...

tbh I dont use half the features on it anyway and even though XBL users have to pay for online its far superior to the PSN (I play it at my mates quite often)...1 bonus though, people on PSN tend to be pants so you can batter them easily

Yeah it's a shame the whole film wasn't filmed in IMAX (like the car chase bits and intro were) - I think that's the way I want my films in the future.

Everything looks so huge and clear onscreen - really makes you feel it was worthwhile getting a decent tv and Blu-ray player/PS3.

It fills the screen when it's on the IMAX bits, borders come up when it's standard HD.

:?

so 1 min its full screen, then next it has borders? is there a way to stop that cause it would annoy me tbh continually changing...would just want it to stick to full screen

They broke some 2million quid camera on set so couldnt film all of it in HD
U dont really notice the borders changing tbh. U can watch the whole film and not realise until someone points it out

Yeah, my copy is an American copy(Batpod boxset)

Should be the same as a 'UK' copy though.

Every now and again a pretty small border (an inch top and bottom on my 32") will appear - basically when the IMAX sequences end.

I didn't notice it at first. If I was an AV nut it might annoy me.

I swear on the extras it says there were only 4 IMAX cameras in the world - that turned into 3 :-D (serious)

Yea something like that, they were laughing about it as well. Thought it was funny that theyd broken some really rare expensive camera :?

I don't really know tbh - but I know it takes forever to load if you select it, I aborted opening it up in the end :x

It's some kinda bonus features thing attached to Blu-ray's if you gotta net connection on your Blu-ray player I think, you can do stuff like record your own commentary and upload it to a website or summat.

People say it ain't all that great though.

Did you hear that a cameraman was killed while filming the car / truck chase scene?

I've heard conflicting stories of that.

He was killed on somekinda test run. Don't think it was the IMAX sequence featured on the bonuses with the IMAX camera (during car chase) wipeout.

Happened over in Chertsey here in the UK, bout 30 mins away from me.

I have had a 360 since launch and although I play a few offline games (oblivion, fable 2) the online is superb. The reason it is so superb is that all my mates are on Xbox.

I got a PS3 just after Christmas and although it looks sweet It is lacking in one major area, mainly i'm the only person in my circle of friends who owns one so online is a no.

Look at the catalogue of existing games and what system your friends have then decide which looks best for you.

EDIT:
Should add that besides possibly getting Uncharted no other PS3 game exclusives have really grabbed me (personal taste mostly) and LBP has yet to pull me away from Fable 2 on the 360.

Also the PS3 online sucks. This is not based on any fanboy sway but mainly because the bloody thing seems to kick me every fifteen minutes. Also 'Home' is a weird netherworld full of people willing to buy fake furniture for real money or gang 'running man' dance any female in the vicinity.

PS3 browser is okay for what it is though.

I had a Xbox 360 and I now have PS3.
What does Xbox have , alot of games , Online service that costs but is excellent.
What does PS3 have, good amount of games, Online Service is free and easy to use.
Games do I Miss Halo, Fable

What makes up for it, Little Big Planet, Metal Gear, Singstar, Resitance, the excellent Uncharted (superior to any tomb raider in existence), the new 3D games that will be released this year

P.S if Halo was your thing than its replacement is 256 Multiplayer game called Killzone 2 (it does have great single player) out in a month. I aint a Fanboy and I aint that Sad...you have a hard decision

Luke use the Force.

P.S Im not your Father, Luke
