i weighed myself this morning for the first time in ages on my old bathroom scales, was 8 stone 4 as normal. though hey they're old so bought myself some new scales (cheap £3.50 ones from asda) went to mum's this afternoon and still 8 stone 4 on hers. got home used my new scales and i'm nearly a stone heavier! >:( can new scales be wrong???? i'm still a size eight and my clothes don't feel tighter. is it possible to but on so much weight and not notice?!!

What have you had for lunch today?.... 1 stone in 12 hours is not bad :-) ....

As above.. make sure they are are measuring zero when theres no weight on them..

If not.. take back to asda.... and try some others in store..

Never trust home scales, in fact chuck them out!!

Trust your instinct instead, clothes feel loose : losing weight

Clothes feel tight: Who's been eating the pies?

Home scales aren't to be trusted, only time I have ever believed the scales, is when my weight has changed drastically and then I've gone to the chemist (or wherever) and weighed myself on 'proper' scales.

clothes feel exactly the same
might complain to asda - emotional distress, lol

maybe you should have put down the bag of doughnuts before jumping on

and for me...was worrying for you too! :p

Make sure the floor is flat and not on carpet, I think this can change the weight.
Also make sure if it's an old traditional type that the pointer starts at 0 and not 1 :whistling:

I had a pair of scales bought from Woolworths, lol

I'm not one for weighing myself everyday, I tend to judge my weight by how my clothes feel.

I've put weight on in the last year, this made me weigh myself, according to the home scales I was 10.5 stone, wii fit however, told me I was 10 stone. Woolies scales got binned, lol

Regardless, my clothes have been feeling tighter, all scales results denied, lol!!!

The 'c' stuff I cut down on, ie crisps, chocolate, cheese etc.

Ass got outdoors and exercised

Working so far:p

Then again I'm so enjoying the packet of crisps I'm eating at the moment, but hey, they're soooooooooo nice man, I can deal with the extra weight, lol

good idea, i'm gonna try weighing myself on my wii fit in the morning, hope it's not different again, lol
like i say though my clothes don't feel any different :? and until i bought these new cheap scales i never put on weight:x

scales, made by the devil you are what you are and shouldnt need scales to tell you any different

you know what why dont you go get a life and stop worrying about your weight if its not an issue with you and only the scales then forget it as there are people out there with genuine weight issues which are quite severe to say the least.

Serious thread?

Oh wait, I'm size 6 btw :p ..... and most probably its your scales. :)
#18
Sounds like those scales where you add on 7 stone then divide by 3, multiply by 100 and take away the number you first thought off and theres your answer.

am i not allowed to ask an innocent question just incase it may offend you?

i'm sorry to hear about your neice, really i am but i really don't see how a semi light hearted thread about asda's cheap (most probably defective) bathroom scales is going to somehow affect people who have eating disorders in a negative way?

I am great my man is home from hospital.

He can't stop trying to talk, I can't understand a word because he has a plate in his mouth at the moment.

Work for me all weekend :-(

At the hospital the other day my fella's aunty was visitng at the same time as me.

She said that I looked like I had put weight on.

Hopefully it was because my figure was exposed in leggings.

His friend who was visiting said I looked like a film star because I had my sunglasses on :-D

Hey missp:-D

Did you think to check in your pocket for all the money you've saved getting this piece of useless measuring device at asda price??:w00t:

Take it back and hey presto - you 've lost a stone and have a Magnum as a reward.

so true, live without scales, pretty much what I said, judge how your clothes feel. I am what I am, a comfy size 10.

I've been up and below that and those were the times when I always checked my weight, but not checking...... I'm an ok weight.

MissP you don't sound overweight, far from it.

Guess it's a problem to you if you feel underweight tho'.

Funny but the only time I was interested in my weight was when I was underweight, lol, I know that sounds funny, but I knew I was underweight, clothes didn't fit and everyone was inviting me for tea, lol, big portions too.

The worst thing is when I put weight on and I was told 'oh you look
so much better, now you've put weight on' so much fatter in the face!!! lol

I'm always told I get away with it, 'cos I'm tall, I'm 5 8, I don't feel tall, I think everyone shorter is just small, lol.

I don't feel skinny, I know I'm not, but I guess I can still get away with describing myself as slim........just.

TBH I'm 36 and a mother of 2 daughters, I think I'm allowed a little chubbiness now,lol.

Hmm where's that chocolate?:p:p

Marina

Oh sorry SS - had to scroll past some stuff and accidentally missed your entire heart warming bit where you laid bare your soul - you should have included a French phrase or two.:-D
