I'm FUMMING less (ebay)

Rewritten @ 8:55pm

I had 4 VCR Players to sell on ebay, which I originally listed for £9.99 (Item number 150352369325)

I sold 2 of them sold within a couple of hours of each other. I decided that they therefore must have been too cheap, so I edited the ebay listing and increased the final 2 available to £11.49. An ebayer then decided to buy 1 but bought 2 by mistake. I therefore refunded them the money and seeing as had still one remaining had to relist it.

So I relisted thinking it was 1, when in fact it was 4 ( Item number 150352764969). Seeing as it was for another 10 days, I decided to list the last one for £12.99 . An ebayer then decides to buy 2, as I only hd 1 available and nervous that if I refunded the difference, the buyer wouldn't want just the 1, I refunded the whole amount and told them my mistake and that they should buy the last remaining one if they still wanted it. I then quickly changed the listing so it was 1 available.

2 hours later someone else bought the last one and I sent it to them, thinking the original buyer of the 2 had not wanted to go ahead with it. I then sent an ebay cancellation to retrieve the final fees for the last 2, which was declined by that buyer. I accepted he might have not been happy with the outcome, so I let it go and I was only out of pocket for a couple of quid.

Today when I logged on I received that feedback
seller not got goods to sell now selling same goods for more money
, which I was really not happy at, seeing as I had refunded the buyers money and explained the situation.

Don't worry about it...Just put it in you comments and hopefully the "buyers" will see ti...I have a 400 feedback and 1 negative
#2
Had mine the other month for crap reasoning. Ebay = garbage.
#3
are you selling the same goods for more money?
#4
File a non bidder payment and after 7 days the negative feedback is removed. It's wrong but that's the system. Read up on removing feedback on ebay you'll see what I mean. It might 'encourage them' to agree to the cancellation.

How do I know? Well a pretty poor seller did it to me after I left genuine negative feedback. And YES even though you have refunded you can start a non bidder paying strike.
#5
I had a negative for the item arriving after a week- I was ill and contacted them and state in my listings and my dispatch time that I take a while, thing is it was sent out the day after payment!! You win some you lose some.
#6
Not being funny but at the end of the day your mistake led to a neg.

If I was the buyer I would be suspicious too and probably have done the same.

to be honest mate not many people give a sh1t about sellers feedback anymore since the changes people realise that feedback is now worthless

i have 1200 odd feedback on main account and no negative feedback

what i would have done is said nothing and then after about 5 days emailed them and asked if the item was ok as they havent left feedback

they reply we have not received it

you say oh golly gosh i will refund your payment for you as it is not your fault and i will claim through royal mail after the 28 days as it saves you the hassle im very sorry this has happened but royal mail are not perfect

or just email them and say to remove feedback and you will send an item out and then they will and then dont send them anything they cant leave negative feedback twice for same sale

You should have replied with the PP payment number and reported the seller for abuse of the FVF system.

Not a lot you can do, just swallow it and move on, see it as a badge of honour, I know it's gutting but ebay is a harsh place nowadys

I paid again, phoned ebay and quoted payment details in the resolution centre every day. He then left me a strike which ebay removed immediately. So he was stuck with my feedback. I got my money back plus a £20 credit for the hassle from ebay. They also removed his comments under the negative feedback he got. I also had to report him for abusive messages.

However had I not known the system it would have stuck, chances are the OP's buyer will not know the system.

knowing the system isnt the ops problem its knowing how to keep his customers happy

As asked above, are you selling the same item for more now?

Secondly, did you do a full refund or just for the single item you couldn't supply? He probably used you to combine postage and minimise hassle of ordering two, but you potentially prevented that.
#24
which I think was totally unjust.

Basically I made an error

um :?

I had 5 items to sell. When I listed them 3 of them sold within 6 hours, so I thought I listed it too cheap so I increased it by a small amount, whilst still honouring without question, the first 3 buyers. Then this ebayer decided to buy it at the new slightly higher price, when I realised the listing mistake.

So I did increase the price from what it was originally BUT the buyer still decided to buy it at the new price.

so thats a yes then.

you just peeved em off hon. Maybe with some time and thought they'll remove the negative feedback.

Suggestion : offer them the one item you still have for free if it isnt too large a price tag, it's worth it for the goodwill.

Try not to worry too much, just add your apologies to their feedback comment so future buyers know what happened x x

No I'm not. I only had 5 to sell originally, but as a previous buyer decided to cancel, I had to relist it, where I increased the price slightly but forgot to change the quantity from 5 to 2, so therefore when the 1st one I was able to dispatch it, but when the other ebayer bought 2, I was a bit confused as to how it happened, at which point I realised my mistake and Immediately offered them a refund
#29
It sounds like you are completely to blame for this, you upped your price and kept listings at both prices.

The only problem is that when I refunded him, I told them to buy the last one on ebay. But an hour after I sent the email another ebayer snatched it. I decided at the end of the day, I couldn't stop other people buying it, so I just sent it off to the new buyer. But, that price was exactly the same as I had charged the previous buyer, therefore I don't know how they accuse me of trying to raise the price

Indeed, not a stock issue, but your pricing error and you then got a neg after not following through, deserved I am afraid, move on.

I'm probably not explaining it well

I never had 2 different listings. Once the 1st listing had ended, I decided to raise the price when I relisted it. I made the mistake of not realising I had quantitiy of 5 on the relist.

Therefore, the cheaper price was available for the 1st listing and a slightly higher price was available for the 2nd listing. It's not my fault that the buyer decided to buy it at the 2nd listing

Now i'm lost. You had 5, sold 3, raised the price on the last 2 which he bought and you didn't have enough left? 3+2=5? Item number?

shengis keep up, someone else purchased one on te second listing, so when the next buyer purchased two their was only 1 left

I did see the mention of another buyer in a later post but i'm trying to see the sequence of events here, so an item number with sale times would clear it up. The post I questioned said that he'd sold 3 then the other buyer had bought 2, no mention of when buyer 3 became involved:)

So at this time I would say neutral is deserved (assuming the op refunded straight away) and the neg reason isn't true.

And rather than canel the listing and offer the buyer a partial refund as they only had one left, asking if they still wanted one or a full refund, they kept the listing active when they had none to sell, sold another, when infact the buyer in question, it was theirs by rights as they had bought and paid for first. OP thought screw it, I will just sell it to someone else without consulting the first buyer. I would say neg deserved as he sold to someone else after telling the buyer he had no stock.

you lost me there, he had two to sell, but listed 5 by mistake, somebody purchased one and he despatched, then this buyer comes in to buy two at this stage the seller realises the mistake, he cant send two as he only has one

missed that post somehow, the last one was purchased after refunding for both - lol

oh well theres naff all the buyer can do really, he did sell something he hadnt got, not sure ebay would look upon this lightly if the seller complains, op you can always add to the feedback received, just expalin it was an error on your part and buyer was refunded immediately, shat happens

sounds like you're stuck with the neg unless the ebay member gets suddenly very kind hearted then.

Epic thread nonetheless. Op summarily repped
