I couldnt care less if my regular mail arrives late due to postal strike crap but this is getting ridiculas! a HUKD user has sent me Reading Parking Tickets and sent them on Tuesday Morning presumingly 1st Class Recorded. They still not have turned up and I need those damn tickets as i'm leaving here at 7:30am tomorrow. I'm going to have to ask a refund now on certain condiions of course as they have not turnt up yet and havent even seen the postman today yet. I'm hoping they arrive today this is very frustrating.

My mail in the last 2 weeks has arrived late 90% of the time unless its been delivered by a van.

Who exactly are you going to "demand" the refund from?

If it was sent 1st class then that's not a guaranteed timed delivery service so you go no chance of getting anything from Royal Mail.
And it's not the sellers fault if the postal workers are on strike, so he doesn't have to give you a refund either.

I said to him I only want the tickets if they arrive on time. I specifically asked him to post me the tickets on Tuesday morning. He could have posted them Tuesday at 5pm for all I know until I see a scanned receipt then of course it's not guarrenteed 1st Class but if he posted it 1st Class Recorded on a Tuesday morning then it would definately need to be here by Thursday the latest I made that quite clear to the seller. If you bought tickets from ebay for example and they arrived 2 days after the actual concert would you be happy? No. You would want a refund. The seller should have thought about the amount of time the tickets would have had to arrive and I stated I only wanted them if he posted them 1st Class Morning Tuesday because if they arrive late then what am i supposed to do?

If you asked him to send 1st class recorded then that's your fault i'm afraid, because as I already said that isn't a guaranteed service. What you should have asked for was for him to send it via special delivery, which would be guaranteed to arrive in the timeframe you specify.

It's not upto the seller to think about how long it might take for things to arrive, you are the one wanting to use the tickets not them!

Parking Tickets are £10 on the day He sold them for £6.50 Delivered 1st Class Recorded Why would I want to pay £10 all together to get them here for very next day theres no logic in that and I wanted them to be a few quid cheaper obviously and to pay via paypal to make things eaiser. I can honestly say everything I have ever sent on a Weekday Morning 1st Class has always arrived the next day to users i've sold tstuff on here too. Hexan sold me Playstation 2 Memory Cards 1st Class Tuesday and even posted them on Tuesday evening and they arrived yesterday morning. This is why I wanted the seller to have posted them in the monring as postal pickups are more successful in the morning than in the afternoon or in the evening it was important.

Thanks anyways I understand what your trying to say but there would have been no logic paying £10 when I could paid £10 on the day for it. It's all down to how the user posted the tickets on that day... Postal strikes are happening everywhere so how am supposed to know they wouldnt arrive?

to be fair I think I would have just paid £10 on the day rather than having this hassle....£3.50 difference...aint all that :?
anyways like i said...hope postie shows up with it...and even worst case scenario...you've only lost £6.50, admitted its annoying...but not the end of the world :)

indeed i understand that I have gone the last 2 Years where I have not been out of profit where it has been no fault of my own and no fault of the sellers premuming he posted them 1st Class Recorded on Tuesday morning. If I for example see that he posted them 2nd Class Recorded Tuesday evening then I wont be happy and I see fit to ask for a refund if I see proof that they were indeed posted 1st Class Recorded Tuesday morning then I will have to let this go of course as it's not his fault and not my fault and it's the ****** post's fault. Very annoying anyways i'll wait and see i hope he turns up but if not then will just have to wait for sellers response and scan of the recipt.

call the sorting office hn, see if they have any record of the post x

Have you got any roadworks on your road? If so they may be at your sorting office.

Also i always post things after 3pm and they arrive next day(1st class or 1st class recorded). Must be somethin with your postal service make a complaint.
#15
You admitted yourself that you asked him to post recorded delivery on Tuesday, which, as far as you know, he did.

It is not the sellers responsibility to deal with the postal strike, the law states that documents are deemed served, i.e. delivered.

not everyone can get to the PO first thing in the morning, some people post when on their lunch break.

As said by others, the only way to get an item guarenteed is special delivery, which is £5.40 before 1pm

The seller has provided their part of the bargin by sending them out before the concert and in enough time.

You should have bought them earlier or paid for special delivery if it was necessary to arrive on time

Im going to head down the sorting office in an hour as there have been major road works everywhere nearby which have not helped anything go smoothly. But my neighbor has said the postman has been today. Im due quite alot of mail lately that still has not arrived :(, The postman doesnt even leave me 'Cards to say I was out' When infact i'm in and he just cant be bothered to ring the door bell or pass it on to the builders downstairs. ANyways I dont want to rant but i see for myself to make a complaint at the office.
