I'm jealous

You all in Britain (Non N.Ireland Britain) can buy fireworks over the till like we used to be able to in the sales

I would love cheap fireworks

Over here prob cause of the troubles and hurt police officiers etc, you need to buy a lisence(only part of uk that does it)

Prob the whole of the uk will have to do it soon (good tax revenue)

It i pointless paying £30 for a lisence that'll last one halloween to buy a fireworks box that will be about what it is for the lisence

Most stupid law ever, now everyone buys them illegally, promotes the black market, puts kids in a more dangerous position as they are playing with cheaply made fireworks

And it ruins halloween

I want cheap fireworks NOW!

*jealous of peope across the water for the first time*

Rant over

Fireworks are over-rated anyway, lots of money for very little entertainment . . . . kids are normally bored half-way through the box anyway . . . . .

Loved that this was from Northern Ireland, I worked in Ballylumford recently and stayed in West Belfast for a month, it was mint! . . I loved it, beautiful place full of nice people

your lucky, my poor doggy goes berserk at fireworks and they even get let off in the day round here as some parents let their kids run riot, i have never understood why kids think its cool to play with something that can maim or kill you weird i never done anything like that when i was a kid

Took the kids to the Strathclyde Park display last night. They absolutely loved it and it went on for ages. What's more, like most public displays it was free.

IMHO they should ban the sale of fireworks to the public altogether - unless the Police can stop the idiots who let them off during the days before and afterwards!

Heres one of the many reasons why fireworks should not be sold in NI. (Please click on the link below).

Footballer hit with firework aimed from stands

The incident above was after the Co. Antrim Shield final at Windsor Park between Linfield and Cliftonville earlier this week. The match had just ended and as the Cliftonville players were celebrating, you can clearly see the firework being launched from their fans in the top tier of the stand.

Shocking stuff.

where i live the shops are only allowed to sell them the week before bonfire night - but they were still gong at 2am !!!!!

I think the sales of fireworks should be more tightly regulated, to buy and use you should have to have a licence after completing a training course, after all they are small bombs at the end of the day, they are dangerous things causing many injuries every year. I'm jealous that you norn iron people have such tight control over them. Its the way forward.

I am not allowed to touch fireworks anyway (lifetime firearms and pyrotechnics ban) but even if I could I would not want to. Crazy crazy people use them so close to houses and other people without a second thought!

They should be controled as you say but i don't think anything will be done. We have suffered every night this week with the things-people seem to be confused when the 5th is:?
I am so sick of hearing them and angry they are allowed to disrupt our lives so much. My son hasnt been able to sleep all week due to neighbours displays-i cant believe adults can actually think this is ok to do...i hate to think what it has been like if you live in a town or city. I am disgusted. Rant over:oops:

why spend your own money on fireworks..i just go to watch the concil show on 31st oct...saves me alot of money and is a nice show of fireworks.

Plus it is alot safer than just anybody letting off fireworks
