yip......HR will accept the term " I QUIT"

so long as its dated, and signed.

just like the term "FCUK OFF" from a manager is, in a court of law, acceptable as a termination of a contract !

Dear Sir/Madam,

Please take this letter as formal notification of my resignation.

As per my contract I will serve my XX days notice and as such my final working day will be dd/mm/yy

Regards
mwaters28

While you may not mind about closing the door on the company forever, you never know when you might need a reference, so work your notice if you have any - better to suffer for a bit longer than have a snotty reference come back to bite you later in life.

Can you not ask for your remaining holiday allowance or state that you will leave for example 7 days prior to your resignation date on full pay due to holidays(If you have 7 days holiday remaining)? I may be making this up but i have a recollection of someone doing this where i worked, may have just been lucky however.
Hope this makes sense.
Hope your new job works out well.

You can't state it, you would need to ask about it or they could be snotty. if you don't get it they would have to tag it on...most places would just simply agree to it.

Thanks Bella, just something that came to mind but wasn't sure on the details

Dear manager,

In this letter, I will sycophantically pretend to have enjoyed working with you and genuinely gained from my experiences at this company and with you as my manager. No, really, you were great! All those times you overheard me calling you a 'unt in the toilets, I was just talking about someone else. Honest. Anyway, I write this now because I recently visited a forum and asked what'd be good to write, and someone explained that it's a bad idea to burn bridges regardless of the circumstances, since references may still be needed, and managers in one job can sometimes become managers at the next job through the power of coincidence. The employment world is surprisingly small sometimes. Anyway, I'd best get going now, got work to be doing, and don't want to be letting you down in my last week.

I hope to deal with this company again in future. Yeah. Srsly.

Sincerely,
mwaters28

Now, I appreciate that you may need to print two or three copies of this out since you may need to bite your lip so hard whilst writing your version that you draw blood, but it's for the best. Obviously, it's more fun just to insult them massively, but you may need them or the people working for them as an ally in future, so it might help to write a pile o' lies as above.
