my son has his friend over they are the same age but the friend is how do i put this without causing offence?? stupid for the want of a better , we've played monopoly and and he gave up cos he couldnt work out the money even after i helped him, they played connect 4 and he stropped cos he couldnt work out a line of four, they played trading cards and he stropped cos my son didnt have the cards he needed,
, now they are on the wii and the poor lad cant even get how to swing the controller unless im stood behind him holding his arm and swinging for him.
what can i get them to play so the friend doesn't keep stropping and and wont be upset cos he cant do it. And then this upsets my son cos he gets all the games we have
i've had every game out we have and he cant play any of them
theres nothing wrong with the lad and quiet good at school so i know he doesnt have a learning problem.
please dont take offence by the comment i used but i really dont know how to word it

A physical activity is the only answer by the sounds of things.

Trampolining, football etc...

Is the friend an only child?
#13
Th e child sounds stressed hunni.. take them outside to the park and see if some fresh air and exercise helps improve their moods x x
#14
Lego solves anything like this
#15
My nephew is only just 6 but i know he couldn't work out Monopoly money.

Maybe the other lad just isn't used to playing games,he sounds deprived rather than spoilt lol
#16
Maybe he is what i call "an outdoor kid" .More happy running round playing outdoor games than cooped up playing video games,
#17
My nephw is a whinger like that though,he throws a strop if he can't do something.

Always kept a huge tub of lego in case of my kids having friends like this, sounds to me he is used to playing games with his younger sibling and so easier and used to being better
#24
He really does sound like my nephew though, hes a right handful and as i said can be a right whinger if he can't do something or loses at a game,he's always cheating too.

He's a lot better when he's out on his bike,or at the park etc.

But this weather isn't ideal !

I feel your pain lol
#25
what about a game or puzzle or somehting where they work together rather than compete against each other. This was he can't get in a strop. For example make something together or play tennis double together on the wii etc

When my son was 7 a young lad from a bit of a rough family moved in nearby and we thought we would give him the benefit of the doubt and had him round a few times, We knew he was a bit rough and ready but one day my son came in and said "why does he keep calling me a baxter"?,Needless to say my son didnt have much to do with him for long,

Totally agree. This kid is simply a bad loser at games. I did childminding for a long time and saw this so many times.

ps. I did have a giggle at this thread, thanks for the laugh.
