any links would be good?

is there a risk with downloading from torrents, like viruses?

i tried one with sp2 integrated and it wouldn't run when i tried installing from scratch, is there a certain of putting it on a cd?

Can't put a link on mate. Just check the comments of what you DL before you do. You shouldn't need to put it on a disc to run it once you've Downloaded it. I wouldn't even try. When you DL it there should be a setup file which should run it all and then a pop-up box will come up for your serial number.

There is a risk of viruses but if you have good enough virus protection this should be minimal. I use the free version of AVG which has always been sufficient for Utorrent. Plus I have spyware terminator and online armour firewall. More than enough and all free! :w00t:

Not sure about putting it on a disc mate. Once re-installed you should never need to do it again unless your pc goes west! In which case use the recovery disc which came with it (this wipes EVERYTHING though)

You will probably need a copy of the OEM version of XP Home rather than the Retail (boxed) version.

Your serial number will probably only work with the OEM version.

It is rare nowadays for any company to send out a "proper" Windows CD with a new computer (usually it is just a recovery disk) so proper Windows disks are rare.

You will probably need to find someone who has built their own computer (or had one built) and bought their own copy of windows XP Home OEM version.

If you bought the PC with Windows preinstalled you may have a recovery partition on the hard disk, or you could contact the company who made the PC and see if they wil send you a recovery CD.
