I bought 4 items online,3 of them were part of a 3 for 2 offer where you get the cheapest item free, they were priced as follows :

3.98
5.98
14.99

The 4th item cost 7.99.

Now,the item at 14.99 was damaged so i returned it.

On my invoice i was charged a total of 28,94 which included postage at 1.99 and it showed offer applied as 5.99(which was the 3 for 2 of reduction of cheapest item 3.98 PLUS half price postage of 1.99)

I have been refunded but i can't work out how they have come to this figure which i'll state later what it is,but can anyone tell me what they think it should be first ?

Sorry if it's confusing as i'm confused myself lol

i thought if you returned 1 item of a 3 4 2 offer then the other two would be charged at full price
#2
£12.99 refund??

Yep, so £9 refund?

saying that you should have been charged £28.96 + postage in the first place?
#4
My OH reckoned the refund should be 10.98.

But i wasn't refunded that nor any of the answers above.
#5
you would be refunded 14.99 but charged 3.98 but i can't work out you got 28.94 coz i get 30.95
#6
I'd guess the refund should be £11.01, except that I wouldn't accept that if the item was sold damaged. In such a case I would expect a full refund for the cost of the item plus the cost of return postage, if any.

£11.01

£7.01 refund?

yeah thats what I get too!

wow this is confusing debs!!
#10
Might be easier if you say what they refunded then we can try and work out how they reach that figure?
#11
£5.98
£3.98
£14.99
£7.99

Postage & Packing £1.99

Offer Applied -£5.99

Total £28.94

The above total is all the items added together PLUS 1.99 postage then minus the 3 for 2 offer and a postage discount of 1.99 thus giving a total of 28.94
#12
I was refunded 13.49
banned#13
3.98
5.98
14.99

The 4th item cost 7.99

total should have been taking into account 3 4 2 offer = £30-95

but as you returned 1 of the 3 4 2 offer i would have thought the total to pay would now be £19-94

I was refunded 13.49

sounds like it was to your advantage then?!

That's what my OH said but i can't work out how they came to that figure:?
#16
I reckon they probably didn't have a system to recalculate it so just took 10% off!

£28.96 + 1.99 postage minus her refund of £13.49!
#22
What you say about the £5.99 reduction doesn't make sense either - it isn't £3.98 + £1.99 postage, that would be £5.97, which whilst close, is definitely not the same as £5.99!

Isn't it just £28.96 minus refund? P&P included in the £28.96.

Does it just say '5.99' reduction? What was the free postage offer?

[At the end of the day I'd say you were 'up' no matter what but its still a curiosity. I'm still guessing they just plucked a number almost at random though!]

It says offer applied -5.99

The postage was 1.99 supposedly half price.

I've come to the same conclusion, they couldn't work it out either and refunded any amount:roll:

Ah right - although it doesn't help much!

Nearest I can get is £13.66 - add it all together and divide by 3!! Round to nearest 50p. :w00t: :w00t:

I've given up now.
