I noticed that the BBC i player is only available on the voda network is this true ? and in respect of what is available for Orange as the burd has an orange sim.. what can she get..(and yes unfortunately facebook is available...) along the iplayer type apps?

rep if I have any left for assistance or just some random abuse if my rep has run out

works well on the iphone on O2 ;-)

BBC iPlayer is only available on mobile phones within the UK, and it depends on your phone and network as to how you can access programmes. Programmes can be played through a wi-fi connection and, for 3 UK or Vodafone contract customers, over a 3G network. The BBC is working to make BBC iPlayer available over more 3G networks.

It's just a website, not an app. So why can't you get it? Orange can't blcok what comes down your wi-fi. 3G maybe but I doubt it. Just point your iphone browser to bbc.co.uk/iplayer and it should load the correct version.

bbci player is available to everyone on a wifi connection, if you try to connect on a 3g network you get the message streaming bbc iplayer is currently only available to users on 3 or contract users on the vodafone network, i'm on o2 and have never been able to use while out and about, but okay over wifi, hope this helps:p
