Have decided against an iphone as I won't use the mins etc & don't want a hefty contract so my friend suggested the new i pod touch instead.

Do u buy the games in the same way as with the iphone? I've read that its an ebook too, is this true? Where do u get the books from?

What about video/films, where do I have to get them from or can I transfer those that are on my computer?

Would appreciate some advice/help!!

Apps are bought in the same way as the iphone but using your wifi connection instead. Yes you can use it as an ebook reader, there are various apps for it including amazon kindle.
If you install the VLC app then you can simply add your video files from your computer on itunes.

I think you can use viber on the touch to make phone calls for free as well. It not supported but it can work according to the website.

ah right thanks everyone. Have been looking at the specs but all gobbledegook to me! And only played on my friends iphone for about 5mins on monopoly lol.

Don't use many mins or texts on my current contract so prefer to be back on Pay n Go and just have a touch for the games etc!

I'd considered it, but I'm a bit of a skeptic and by having my own new touch I'll know its history etc and know it will be brand new. Is a graduation present so I want it as my own and new. x

Jailbreak it and it'll be just like the iphone!
Facetime if you really need it lol

All in all the newest ipod touch is pretty much the iphone 4 without the calls
if you want something cheaper, you can always choose the 3rd gen (like meh)

Not bothered about price, going for the 32gb as like the middle ground.

ASDA is at £220 with free £25 card at mo so think thats beating most if the deal continues into this week. Otherwise maybe tesco with the free clubcard points? Will check out HMV though thanks x
