I used to enjoy watching the american tv shows, heroes & lost. And since they both stopped around the same time, I just feel that there's nothing out there to fill the emptiness that these programmes have caused me.

I also enjoyed the short series Terminator, Sarah Conner chronicles, but that was cut short!

I did start watching the new series, V, but that's been on a break and i'm not sure when it will start for season 2.

Merlin season 3 is keeping me busy for the time being, but does anyone know if there's any other series out there similar to lost or heroes.

I did try stargate & smallville but stopped watching. I havn't seen prison break yet. is that worth watching?

Please, someone help, I can't survive on Naruto, Bleach & Merlin.

There was one that was going to start about a guy with a magic cape, abit like batman. Can't remeber what it's called but trailers look good.

I'm in the same position op, I'm going to give Dexter and Boardwalk Empire a go

I thought boardwalk empire was really boring. Nothing interesting happened in the first episode. Don't understand what was so great about it. I honestly believe if Scorsese and HBO weren't attached then people wou;dn't be making that big a deal about it.

Dexter - 4 seasons of it available and the 5th has just started

one of the best tv shows around at the moment

oh and Weeds

Dexter is the BEST.

I watched the first two series of heroes then just thought it got wierd. I loved lost except for the ending. But i have to say that i watch a lot of american shows and i will sure be devestated when dexter comes to an end. This is the programme to watch!

from the baron summer months of virtually no tv (apart from warehouse 13 and true blood(although that has turned into twilight for the housewives) there is now a plethora of tv to watch.

there's modern family. the big bang theory, mad men, fringe, boardwalk empire, castle, chuck (summer glau guesting in ep 4), the office, sgu, the inbetweeners, the event (although this wasn't great) smallville, nikita, blue bloods, 30 rock, hawaii five o and probably more I've missed out or havn't started back up yet.

good times.
#28
Modern Family is pretty good. There is The Middle aswell.

Dont watch these but they are pretty good to get into.
#29
oh god Lost was bad, gave up after Season 3.

Heroes went down the same route.

Money > story.

nothing interesting?? six murders that I counted in one episode-the genesis of al capone-all while introducing the characters and setting up the series-each to their own and all that, but how you can say nothing interesting happened is beyond me.

They're both great, although watched the season premiere of moder family last night and it wasn't brilliant.

The Community is also well worth a watch if you're into comedy

Breaking bad is ace

Also OZ is worth looking at youtube trailers to see if it's your kinda thing.

oh wow, lots to choose from, true blood & supernatural look good.

Yes, The cape, lol

I hadn't thought much of Supernatural to begin with and had dropped it mid way through the first season. I happened to catch it a couple of seasons later on Living TV and got hooked with the big arching storyline with Angels and Demons.

Also if you like Naruto and Bleach you may enjoy One Piece and Fairy Tale (subbed not dubbed).

I also loved Lost and Heroes. Also looking forward to V restarting.
Fringe is amazing - third season has just started.
Modern Family is hilarious.
Persons Unknown is also worth checking out.
The Undercovers and Boardwalk Empire have both just started and look good.
I'm also a big fan of The Inbetweeners.
The Walking Dead looks good starting in just over a month.

You found four nondescript people being murdered in a haze of bullets, a wifebeater with barely any background other than he hit his wife and an italian restranteur who you didn't care about being murdered, accounting for two minutes of screen time to be the main interesting points of that. I simply just don't find people i don't care about being murdered interesting. With you logic any TV show could be instantly succesful if they just put loads of people being killed in it.

Just didn't find Micheal Pitt's or Steve Buscemi's character interesting. Sure seeing the genesis of Al Capone was nice, but it accounted for very little of the epsiode. All in all i don't think it was anything special. It may pick up as teh characters unfold, but the manner in which people are reacting to it appears to me to be off the back of Scorsese\HBO.

fair enough-like I said, each to their own-its all about opinions-stick with it-watch episode two and you will see that the people murdered in the woods werent nondescript-it will have far reaching consequences, likewise the hit on collosimo.

the incident in the woods was good, not because of the killings themselves, but because of what it tells us about capones hair trigger temper-thought it was scorceses best moment since pescis rant in goodfellas to ray liotta-further evidence of this, this week. And the wifebeater scenario, isnt about whether you care for the character-its about instantly understanding that buscemis character isnt to be crossed or brutal revenge will follow-it sets the scene for the future perfectly.

Watched the pilot of Lone Star, pretty interesting tad boring see how it goes.
Boardwalk Empire, saw the first episode enjoyed it, again will see how it develops.

Prison Break one of my faves, the 2 best imo are The Sopranos and The Wire. Top stuff!
