I have got it on best quality 5mp, tried auto mode and portrait, tried from a distance and zoomed in but the letters are still fuzzy.
Oh I have cleaned the screen as well.
Any ideas please

you have to be about 10cm (i think) away and zoom in.... if you have super macro you can touch the thing you are taking a pic of with your lens...:w00t:

its a HP e337
i am guessing the head is the closest to a tulip but it makes no difference,
its like the camera isnt focusing its just taking a picture

the closest you can get to it is 60cm... as far as i can see.... try taking a pic from about that distance and zoom in... make sure you have good lighting...(without flash)

yeah tom yours is closest 10cm "The S760 can focus to a minimum of ten centimeters at wide angle in macro mode." (http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/S760/S760A.HTM#)

OP... see how toms camera has the macro setting elsewhere... try to see if your one has it too... (60cm distance sounds like a no to me)

the closest your camera can be to this subject is 60cm... it looks like your one can't do macro.

try to return the camera if you still can?

Ive never heard of a person photographing a reciept before.

Why don't you get a scanner?

HP cameras are shockingly bad, bought loads and sold them on, kept one and it failed after 1 years light use for ebay stuff only.....only imo Kodak are worse...generally canon and panasonic point and shoots are the best, nikon, sony and samsung are ok, rest are generally garbage like the hp and kodak
