I saw Postman this morning standing outside my gate messing with post , i couldnt see clearly what he was doing so i didnt pay much attention , he then left and didnt put no mail through my door.

5 mins later my neighbour pops round with a load of my mail , with clearly my name and address on it.

He told me it looked like its been messed with as the corners had been lifted off ...it was also obvious to me that it had been messed with

Ive had a few letters go missing in the past so i do have concerns.

~And my new bank card was amoung the mail so if i didnt have a honest neighbour someone could of had a spending spree.

Im also expecting a new visa card as i just applied for the other week , so hence is why im worried

Do Royal mail take complaints about this sort of thing seriously? as i was just told i would be wrote to.

just worried now if they tell the mail guy i complained he may take it out on my mail or something

Yes RM have a customer care number for just this sort of thing. Look under www.saynoto0870.com for the geographical/freephone number. I had a problem with missing mail last month and had to phone them. They were very good and the issues here have stopped.

EDIT: btw, they told me that they 'monitor' the address for a period of time, whatever this means...

Its what i will do next time ,and ask him why he put mail through neighbours door with mail clearly addressed to me also ask him why the corners have neem lifted off?

Or is it best to see what Royal mail say?

I look about 15 so sometimes i dont get taken seriously its very annoying but it happens lol....everytime i open my door to some sale guy they ask for my mum :x

Yes i did ring them , got the number for customer service of Royal Mail website , they just gave me a ref number and told me someone would look into it and write to me in 10 days time

i might give that number a ring. i'd swear my postman is dyslexic. he is forever sending my mail to a friends house about half a mile away and i get his. the only similarity in the address is the house number. its mad. i've complained to my local office but nothing changed

That drives me mad! They are usually younger than me as well, which makes it worse!

Ill guess i like it once i get old though , hopefully ill still look 15 when im like 40 lol or maybe that will look a bit to weird lol .....
whats worse though is i like older people them myself to chat to for dates and stuff sometimes they think a bit of a kid is chatting them up ....

Post yourself an old reward card and see if he messes with it.

A little off topic but THIS made me smile the other day.. A postman a little worse for wear..:)..

I had a simular problem with a casual postman after i complained all things arrived accept my dvd rentals so royal mail arranged for an investigator to be at my house before delivery when i was expecting 3 dvds and royalmail sent me items too when the post arrived 2 items were missing so they caught up with him and emptied his pockets to find my missing mail. The police were called and i got a lot of compensation from royal mail. Always voice your concerns.

Wow! That's good to know. They obviously do take these investigations seriously if there is enough evidence to suggest foul-play. Good on you

Send yourself a letter bomb:whistling: if he messes with it it will prove it for sure!

just kidding! I'm sure you must have the same postie as us though, our mail is often delayed, and going to the wrong address too!

I used to work for Royal mail and can tell you exactly what it means. They send letters which they can track to your address, and they also will occasionally send out inspectors to watch the postie unobtrusively, to see how he handles mail etc

This is not a rare problem, everyone I speak to seems to have a horror story about their postman, ours is awful, we incurred loads of late payment charges last year because we never received post, we tried all the complaint procedures but nothing worked, they even brought him to our door to show him where we lived! It all made no difference, I have given up now, but its awful we receive post twice a week, and not all our post either just whatever he feels we should receive, I have changed as much as possible to online but I take a chance with anything else.

This morning my postman left a parcel on my door step in full view of passer by's not even a card through the door, he rang the bell then went.

Mine does it all the time, sometimes leaves a card sometimes doesn't guess I live in a good neighbour hood.
#25
maybe he couldnt find ur address so was lifting the sides to find it..sometimes the letters move out the address window..... hence he gets them messed up?
#26
You may find the first complaint falls on deaf ears, the second one in short succession makes an impact. Remember when phoning to say you complained before.
Also you will get more impact if you pop to you're delievry office and ask to speak to the manager there about it. They usually try and help.

On letter edges stuck up, thats often the machines that flick them up when they go through.

so do i..ithink its great though..neighbourhood seems fine..apart from one time when we had a sofa to be taken away by council ..was outside at 7.30am and gone by 8am...assumed council had been anad gone but they didnt turn up till 1pm....apparently there are people who go around collecting half decent furniture to sell to second hand shops.....

apart from that incident...so far so good...also we live in the same close as the head of the neoghbourhood watch ...plus he is the local councillor for the area....so not too bad hey!
#28
No it wasnt lifted near the address window but on the back , its was lifted up and you could see part of the mail inside and what it may contain.

I have also had parcels left on step and him not ringing door bell .

Once when i sent cash by recorded delivery , yes i know it was stupid , never do it again , the birthday card showed up to but cash was missing and a big slit in the envolope

Oh and why put it in my neighbours door , so maybe he will not get the blaim for it??

He also put my card at risk and private details at risk by shoving a bank card in my neighbours door , its a good job i get on well with my neighbour

But i know and trust my neighbour and even he said it looks like its been tampered with , he is the one who adviced me to complain
#29
i am a postman but i cant say what happened in that instance but the corners of the mail do get ripped quite a fair bit from the macines and then they also get caught in the elastic bands when you have them in your bundle. as for the slits in the tops of cards...its very infuriating for us postmen because it seems to happen in the mail centres before it gets to us and we usually get the blame. There are a lot of good postmen its a shame the rest let us down. make sure you call the local sorting office and talk to the manager and talk to the postman!! I think they monitor it by seeing what mail you have before it goes out - its a bit silly because if someone is messing about then they will just stop while its being monitored! I wish the system was perfect but unfortunately its not :( I hope you get it sorted

My sodding postman has left big boxes on my doorstep which have just sat there ALL DAY 'til I get home in the evening. Thank god I apparently live in a good neighbourhood!

He also still delivers bills when I've asked him not to.

Hope you get your problem sorted. If there's foul play going on I hope whoever's responsible gets their hands cut off.
