Why tell ?
#2
If it is a retail version of something then why not just say you are selling the one you already own?
#3
Not now you told us. But you could sell the one you have paid for.

if you want to sell the brand new one then do it on ebay or amazon, you will get a much better price - well done btw

and sorry for my assumption that it was mw2 (snipers everywhere )

What a stupid rule
#12
So because viperkeith is being honest and saying he won a PS3, he now cant sell the new one here . Thats a bit BS isnt it as encourages dishonesty

crazy isn't

are you allowed to sell unwanted christmas gifts or does that count as profiteering?

I dont see how its profiteering anyway as you spoent time and effort entering comps and should be rewarded for it. You cant sell above rrp on here and 75% of members i reckon are savvy enough to get a good deal.

I mean some of the comps that are on here dont close until march next year and then can take 4-8 weeks to get prize. So sometimes by time you get prize you may have bought something that you later found out you won.
#15
If the seller and buyer are both happy with the deal who cares how much the seller 'paid' for it?

Ridiculous rule IMO.

The one he's paid for isn't new.:?

I thought i knew what you meant but you've lost me now.

Competition wins fall foul of the current fs/ft restrictions and can't be resold.

Of course the OP may resell the previously purchased items.

thanks for clearing that up

thats why i raised this tread i wanted to be sure

i wish i just sold it now without saying anything

Some have gone for as much as 250 on Ebay.

It's just the fees that are a pain if you sell on there.

I, but nothing wrong with honesty.

Ebay would probably get you a better price anyway even with fees.:)

10% then paypal or just say cheque/bank transfer.

Maybe ASB rules need to be looked at , as i dont see point in them. As even selling something brand new no-one will pay on here more than the cheapest you can buy in a shop/online. So buyer gets a brand new item for less than the hottest current selling price. Seller gets paid for something they dont need thus enabling them to buy themselves something they do and get a fitting rewrad for teh hours they spent comping.

Not arguing with you Diva but the profitteering rule that is prohibitting such items from being sold is never going to change with the site its on.:)

I doubt anybody in their right mind would send a chq for an expensive item like that, altho actually they would:roll:

He would have to offer Paypal anyway.

Yep unfortunately just checked you have to offer paypal, I usually stick this in my postage charge:oops:

Had cheques sent for anything up to £300 before.:)

That's what i mean, there are some imbeciles out there who would send a seller a payment method with no comeback at all.:w00t:

Ebay/Paypal fees on a 250 quid sale are 30 odd quid though:w00t:

gumtree is another option

I know what you saying adam. BUt i dont see it as profiteering. Ive just taken up comping and just to eneter the MSE comps ending tomorrow taht interest me will take 3 hours using a roboform filler.
So to sell on what you won at below rrp i dont see as profiteering i see it as earnings.

I started doing mainly because im a SAHM and unable to work due to my OH various shift patterns. In the hope of winning to save money on xmas pressies/birthdays. But also on another forum i know a few other ppl that comp a lot so i hope ( Once i start winning) that i might be able to swap with them.

But we all seen the comps where they ask you to say whether you prefer xbox, PS3 or wii game.
You can state what you prefer dont mean you gonna get.

So i guess it who differently some of us interpret the term " profiteering"

On a different forum im on ive been asking for an official prize swap thread. So we can all state what we won and dont wnat , and what kinda thing we'd swap for

I have no problem with people making money or helping people out but as aScottishBloke has described below, we all adhere by the rules provided, aScottishBloke has to do as the rules dictate.

unfortunately to many people are trying to take advantage of other people so it's no good
