Thinkin of taking the family to Ice Age tomorrow, but don't know wheter to pay the extra £2 pp or whatever it is to see the 3D version, has anyone seen it, or has anyone been to one of the other 3D films like Bolt? I'm just worried i won't like it, is it like them horrible red/green glasses you got in the 80's? If so I reckon i'll end up taking them off anyways, so i won't miss the generally good graphics that come with Ice Age. Can anyone advise??? Many Thnaks in advance :)

3d in my opinion, I took my girlfriend to see it on wednesday and it was really good :)

The glasses depend what cinema you go to, Showcase cinema de lux have special ones that you are forced to return but vue have cheap ones you can keep... neither are that bad.

It's very expensive though so you could wait for it to come out on dvd and buy it along with some extra 3d glasses off fleabay.. that should be cheaper than the cinema and you can watch it more than once.

The glasses now are proper plastic ones. Dont know how old your kids are, but my 7 year old daughter and some of her school friends were scared when they watched a 3d movie of Bob Builder at Legoland

There's only one bit I can recall that may scare kids, it is 3d but I don't remember any moments where things "fly" at you

Ah that would be ok then. The Bob Builder at Legoland had loads of bits coming toward them, like planks of wood and water etc "flying" out and my daughter was really upset. I told her it was only a cartoon but she was scared nonetheless.

so are the glasses red and green,do the glasses detract from the quality of the picture?

if you see a 3d film without the glasses, the picture looks weird. Its fuzzy and not nice without the glasses. You got to wear the glasses, they are normally plastic glasses now.

The colours are fine the lenses in the new classes aren't coloured I dont know how it works but its very good and recomend 3d we have seen both bolt and monsters v aliens and enjoyed both.

the problem I have is that the glasses are all one size, and for kids like my brother who only has a small head...they tend to keep falling off

Other half took our kids Friday night to 3D one,it's worth paying the extra £2,it's flipping dear in 1st place.
As someone already said, all the glasses are same size, should done toddler/child/adult sizes.
