"Though I Fly Through the Valley of Death, I Shall Fear No Evil. For I am at 80,000 Feet and Climbing."

This plane still holds all the official altitude and speed records, it's the only USAF plane to reach retirement without a single one being taken down by enemy fire despite flying through some of the most dangerous AA possible, it was the one that lifted the iron curtain again after Gary Powers' U-2 spyplane was shot down (it could photograph 100,000 square miles an hour at enough detail to read a car number plate) and if a cold war had broken out its derivatives were designed to intercept Russian bombers and to bomb enemy missile sites whilst remaining completely untouchable. Even though it's nearing 50 years old it's still one of the most incredible planes ever built and will probably remain that way for a long time.
