If its open, that thats how much I care about the WC and football and i'm a bloke, I didnt even know the WC was on until they had flags up at my gym. When I asked some guy why the flags he looked at me with disgust "its the world cup" and began shaking his head, he was probably what I call a footbore, one of whom I encounter all the time. I don't read much news and never read sports pages or watch sport, well I dont watch much tv either.

Anybody else going shopping ?

I'm not a football fan but i will watch all of England's games :)
#3
me too, cant stand football, its the only thing that is allowed to over run on the tv, everything has to stop for it, they have there own channels but thats not enough they want to take over every channel.
#4
The only channels dedicated to sports are Sky and ESPN, and they cost £££. Why should every fan be forced take out a contract to watch our national team play..

#13
wow, im not the only one that doesnt care to see 22 grown men run around kicking a ball like kids in a park!!!!!

if you want to pee footie fans off, refer to the game as "kickball" they hate it when i call it that and winds them up, also if you ask them if its the legs they are wanting to see too gets them going aswell hahahaha

were getting a telly licence at work so the matches can be on to avoid sick days, looks like its cash in the attic season for me, woohoo!!!!!

OP obviously cares so much, they have to make a thread to discuss it!

simple question, as i usually find people that criticise this country are usually from somewhere else, with heritage or should i say family roots and allegiance elsewhere:thumbsup:

or maybe the op is gay?

i dont know but im not betting against either possibility, when someone would rather spend time in tescos or some other supermarket :w00t:

I'm with you I have no interest in watching it, if some other guys I will do for the social aspect...but preferably done the pub so there is bored females to talk to ;-)

When I was doing my sixth form exams we were allowed time off for the world cup! I can see where they were coming from that a lot wouldnt have come in, but they forgot about the people that actually would have and had exams coming up and the extra lessons would have been useful!

this is nothing to do with criticising the country its to do with the obsessive behaviour around a game of kickball, which is far overated, but if you choose to watch that than play with your missus its entirely up to you!!!!

LOL

kickball just makes you sound special, but hey keep using it! :)
#25
People get caught up in the hype of it and watch it or the sake of it. I myself couldnt care less who plays or wins.

Theres more chance of the queen dropping her knickers and peeing on my front lawn than me watching a football match.

lol football is bigger than religion in this country......... some would say it is religion

the missus will be around when its finished, world cup wont for another 4 years

loooool, you're funny. I dont think I can ever recall hugging a man whilst watching a football game.

I enjoy watching it because I used to play football when I was younger and enjoy watching most sports in general.

or if you want to analyse my psycho subconsious I WATCH IT COS I LOVE THE TASTY MEN....:whistling:

I can guarantee that you won't be in tescos during the final of the world cup as it's on the 11/7/2010 at 8.30pm which is a Sunday

Don't you have 24 hour Tescos?

If you hate football move to Scotland - there seems to be a lot less coverage of it here! (I wonder why?:whistling:) Although I reckon most of Scotland will be supporting Brazil as usual - so there's more chance of the final getting good coverage than there is in England.
#32
Yeah, er, i'm English can trace my roots back here 1000s of years, and i'm not gay !

Can't see how thats related, football and being gay or not, but it is.

For me going shopping at a final is a sign of defiance as football is thrust down my throat on every occasion.

Oh yes, I also play football every week ! 5 aside in a gym which I enjoy, can't stand watching sport though or following the whole
circus that surrounds it. Even worse, is being stuck in a room with footbores, who want to discuss every game and goal of the week
for every match they watched on TV that week.

Well Wimbledon will have finished a week before that date and Murray might have done you proud by then!

Edit: I do have a 24 hour tescos by me and it's not open 24hours on a Sunday, closes at 4pm, as do all 24hour tescos as far as I am aware
#34
Will be watching most games, the England games, but none of the associated shyte that goes with it, wags, songs, interviews,Sky tv etc.

Hope you win it,very much doubt it though and I`ll be making the most of the beer deals again.

+1

Mine's open Monday 8am till Saturday 10pm, then 10-4 on Sunday.

I'm not a football fan, watching it honestly bores me rigid no matter how hard I try to get into it. Do I try to mock and insult people who DO like it? No, because that's pretty much everybody- I'm in the minority! I'm not going to try to suggest every bloke who likes football is secretly gay, as the same could be applied to every man who watches a TV show with a bloke in... Besides anything else, World Cup season unites the English people more than any other event that comes to mind and it's always nice when everyone is so high spirited about it. Well except for round here in Croydon where everyone got angry and smashed the place up last time around.

England games are a good time to have a driving test though, almost no cars on the road!!!!

I wont be watchin most of the tournament, will probs just pick and choose which games i wanna watch then get bored after 20 mins n return to doing somethin else (probably MW or FFXIII)

Either way the pubs are still open, that is what matters :-D
