If you see a show and its crap, should/can you ask for your money back?

Just wondering: because the future mother in law went to whitney houston, and she said it was s***. Shes peed off cos it was £100+ a ticket.

Does anyone agree that you should be able to ask for your money back if it turns out to be crap.

you can refuse to pay in a restaurant if you dont like the food/service. To pay 100 quid for whitney for the shambles she is producing on this tour is a disgrace imho. But they will never introduce a law allowing refunds, cos people would take the rip.

Her original date for glasgow was changed due to illness,so the sec offered refunds to those who couldnt make the rescheduled date, and they asked for refunds in their droves after reading the reviews from elsewhere-1st may she will be playing to the emptiest hall she has ever performed in-lol!

There have been so many complaints about her recent shows/tour... It was in the News - surely you must be entitled to your money back since it is such a widespread problem?!

as Barky said and yourself even if a show was top class people would be asking for refunds

You must pursue your claim step by step, but imo youre asking for a miracle

I agree.

Just glad it was not me. :-D

If she was honest and cared about her genuine fans who paid more than enough for tickets in the first place, she would offer refunds to those who want one.

I went to see Whitney some 15 years ago at the NIA. paid £35 then for tickets - expensive - and she performed just 9 numbers with a lengthy costume change betweeen each song - far more talking than singing!!

swore I'd never see her live again - and it seems that the current tour is just as bad.

total waste of money. SOMEONE should persue it!!

The problem I can see is you bought a ticket to see a show. The quality of the production was not discussed when you purchased tickets so legally you got what you paid for. A show. Where did you get them from as going through the agent may get you future discounted tickets just so they try and keep your custom

Surely she had read reports? It's no secret that she's finished.

I cannot answer yes or no but I would rather be in the the other parties position. I would say that one mans junk is another mans treasure. You may like her and not have enjoyed the show and others attending may have loved it.

After seeing the you tube videos of melbourne etc i wasnt expecting much but after speaking and looking after her at nottingham i thought it went very well and she was a very polite lady.I cant speak for the rest of the tour though how it went.

A friend of mine went to see Ruby Wax locally this week with a few girl friends of hers.
They didn't want to go back in after the interval, but they did.
After a few more minutes they all walked out.
Problem was, not one of them told the truth about why they left, ( The show was carp ) and so she will still be booked up for people to come and see.
I would have insisted for my money back.

Try WATCHDOG -- im sure if enough people complained something would come of it regarding the WH concerts.

exactly - its like going to watch a film and asking for your money back cos u thought it was rubbish even though IMDB shows the film as 2/10

anyone who saw houston on the x-factor would have been well aware that shes all washed up and cashing in for one last time.

yeah, complain to watchdog, they made Eddie Izzard quit comedy, cos people were complaining he was doing the same show as he'd just released on Video (as it was then).
His management tried to explain that as the vid was shot in San Francisco, the UK hadn't seen the full live show, so they were touring it to promote the vid release.

people complained to Watchdog that it wasnt a NEW show and he quit doing standup for a few years.
