Give DnB a try. I love it on a night out. High contrast, DJ Hype, Andy C chase n Status to name a few. My music taste is quite eclectic. I quite enjoy Duffy, Estelle etc

and this is where P2P comes into a world of it's own, you can sample any band and then decide whether you want to buy their album or go to their gig.

[COLOR="Purple"]love all the bands you mentioned, here's some old stuff you might like;
Beatles (obviously)
Traffic
Small Faces (pre Rod Stewart - much better)
Fleetwood Mac (the original band with Peter Green not the later version)
Leonard Cohen
Ella Fitzgerald
Melanie (Safka)
The Zombies (and the later Colin Blunstone stuff)
Cat Stevens
Nilsson
Paul Simon
The Yardbirds
The Animals
Manfred Mann
Tyrannasaurus Rex (pre T Rex - a bit of an aquired taste, but you might like it!)
Kirsty MacColl
Johnny Cash (particularly the American Recordings)
and newer, Fountains of Wayne
Wow - so much music, so little time - enjoy!

If you give Mars Volta a listen, try and listen to some At The Drive In First, as Mars Volta are half of that band, the other half is Sparta, who are also well worth a listen.

For slightly more indie stuff, try:

The Beep Seals
Litt'lans
Envy and Other Sins
Angry Vs The Bear

also check out:

Frank Turner
Mew
Sigur Ros
Minus the Bear

oh, and if you havent already - Flight of the Conchords.
