just get the premium or the arcade model from sainsburys

Well

Arcade would be a good version, it comes with a memory card but no hard drive, which good hard drive space is good for game saves.

Premium/Pro - Ideal as it has the 60gb hard drive and for when he gets older he may want to online game

Elite - Difference is, its quieter, 120gb hard drive.

I would go for the Pro/Premium myself, i bought an arcade from here ages ago and i then bought hard drive, etc to go with it.

Buy the pro/premium chances are you will end up forking out for the hard drive seperately later anyway and it will cost more buying seperate, especially with the due update which will allow games to be played from the hard drive meaning less risk of discs getting damaged/scratched.

He's only 10 - buy him the cheapest version as you'll want to keep him offline I imagine. You probably don't want him listening to some of the stuff you hear on Xbox live. And does he really need a large hard drive for storing demos and other media at his age? I doubt it...

defnitely get one with a hard drive, i bet if you asked him he'd be expecting that as standard so could be severely disappointed if it dont have one

If you're going to create a Live account so that he can play online be sure to consider parental controls from the off otherwise you may have a fight on your hands later :).

*I know what a 10yr old is like on the 360*
