Jailbreak is a piece of software that basically cracks the iPhone software allowing you to install custom apps that are not approved by Apple. Also unlocking and other types of funky stuff can be done with the jailbroken phone.

At the moment there is a Jailbreak for the OS 3.0 but it is not released till summer this year...
So you will need to just search " Jailbreak OS 3.0 " during the summer and you wil hopefully find it somewhere...
And when you do get the chance to jaibreak it, write down all your contacts and any information somewhere, as normally jailbreaking restores the whole iPhone...

Hope This Helps

If it is a normal 3g not the new 3gs then go to iclarified.com and follow the jailbreak its called redsnow. Back up your contacts etc as you will loose all info that is on there

not very....

obviously if you jailbreak you lose the warranty but is it not possible to restore the phone back to its original settings so it looks as though nothing has been changed?

Follow the simple instructions as in the step by step guide and it will be fine, 10 minutes later you have a jailbroken i phone, just make sure when it comes to pressing the buttons you do as it says.

Don't think that word should be there. If something messes up later on then just restore and it will restore to how it was when you 1st purchased it

Read the comments first on http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=4301 before you attempt the Jailbreak.

Between Step 2 and 3 you need to let itunes activate your phone otherwise you will Jailbreak it and not be able to get a signal - this happened to me so I had to restore it

so where do you get all the apps from?
#13
also once it is jailbroken how do you get the apps onto your phone?
#14
Follow this http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=4301 and in between steps 2 and 3 reconnect your phone to iTunes and let it activate your phone.

This will install Cydia onto your phone where you can download 3rd party apps - if your after installing cracked apps then im not sure what you need for the new OS3 as with the old one you just needed to install 'mobileinstall'
