hi, i am wanting to buy some games from ebay, but they are from china. can any1 tell me what the import duty would be? they only cost a few quid but have been stung with fee's before when buying a camera.
have been on customs website but that aint much help.

providing they're sent in seperate packaging you wont get charged customs tax on anything up to £18 (this doesn't exclude postage)

so if it cost £12 for the item and £10 for postage it would still only be worth £12.
If I remember correctly import duty is only paid on items above £18.00.
i dont think you pay tax on anything thats under £17 in value
5% import duty, +VAT, +~£8 post office handling fees. Sometimes they might even charge an extra 2% on top of the total, if with royal mail.

Other courier might charge more with handling fees.

exempt when under £30 something if marked as gift, else it's under £17, £18.

the numbers probably vary slighly, but you get the point.

email the seller and ask them to mark it as a gift
