Not sure who the "eejits" are, seeing as it quite clearly tells you what to do when you fill in the details. Mine is affected too. Tells you that they will contact you with further details and in the meantime clean the filters and use as normal but don't leave it unattended. Pretty straight forward I think.

its not the first time hotpoint has has trouble like this before it was dishwashers bbc

Mines affected. I might also mention that it only seems to have 1 heat setting as it's always blooming hot even on wool. It also seems to shrink dryer safe items.

its worrying because back in June consumer group Which? said that nearly 12,000 fires in the past three years in Britain had been the fault of defective white goods and kitchen equipment.

I got a phone call on Friday saying Whirlpool were taking over and had a higher safty standard. They said a new part would be fitted but when I read out my serial number he said it would be cheaper to replace. I'm waiting for a call to arrange delivery of my new dryer. 12 months warranty too. Happy bunny.

I've let them know and I've moved ours out into the back garden and have bought a couple of fire extinguishers - in case the hose pipe is frozen!

Nonsense, I'm sure you got a custom form and website that nobody else saw that told you nothing. Other than that they will email..... Something it seems like you think should happen immediately. It's not like there are literally millions of machines and therefore potential millions of customers to respond to though is it......

Please take notice of this recall !!
I had a candy tumble dryer which caught on fire, if I wasn't in at the time we would have lost everything luckily we managed to get it out of the house then put fire out with the hosepipe. My husband contacted candy to let them know what had happened because we didnt want it to happen to anyone else as they might not be so lucky.the tumble dryer wasnt on at the time but the power was on at the socket .candy were very good they came and took the machine away to investigate the fault.they then gave us a new machine as a way of an apology for what happened so I'm pleased that they are making people awear of this problem
