" In Your Pocket " Destination Guides - Many Destinations - FREE !!!

Whilst browsing the internet for information European cities, I stumbled across a very impressive site.
"In Your Pocket" launched in 2000, publishing highly respected and informative travel destination guides. These are frequently updated and are available in most bookshops priced around £5.00.

However, if you visit their website, you can actually download the books in PDF format. These are identical to the shop versions, and are crammed full of useful information, maps, places to visit and places to stay.
With low cost airlines such as Ryanair and Easyjet making travel to Europe so cheap and easy, these books are an invaluable source of information.

At the time of writing this there are 42 destinations available including Prague, Krakow, Berlin, Warsaw, Wroclaw, St. Petersburg, Skopje, Minsk, Riga and many more. There are also two versions available - both free. The "In Your Pocket City Guides" are the full version of the book, and typically number around 75 - 100 pages. There are also "In Your Pocket Instant Guides", which offer a cut down version, but will print onto around 10 pages of A4 paper (which can then be folded into a book format).

Each In Your Pocket Instant Guide contains a careful selection of fine hotels, places to eat, cafes, bars and sights, as well as a whole host of other useful information specifically selected for the busy traveller with little time for full blown guide books. They have been optimized for both on screen viewing and for printing, and download in just seconds: in an instant, in fact.

What's more, Instants are available to some cities otherwise ignored by the travel publishing industry, including Minsk in Belarus, Jurmala in Latvia, Nida and Druskininkai in Lithuania, and Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic.

These online guides launched last year, and have already been downloaded over 100,000 times. After using the information from these on two recent trips (Prague and Krakow), I can personally recommed these - and at a price of £0.00 you cannot go wrong !!

I have moved this to the misc forum as we generally do not allow downloads as deals/freebies.

Yes they are brilliant guides. Usually much cheaper than £5 though. I have at least 10 of these at home i have purchased from various Eastern European cities.

Anyway great website & books if you get hold of them so could be a useful 'bump' if anyone is soon off somewhere in Europe (_;)
