ok, the film was quite simply. rubbish. and that is coming from a huge indiana jones fan. the story was poor and effects dire. basic plot summary was that a kid (shia) asks indiana jones to help him rescue a fellow professor by finding a crystal skull. indy finds skull, gets captured by russians, escapes with his ex marian (mother of boy) and find an aztec temple. puts skull back and aliens appear, russians die. indy lives. the end. and yes i did say that right, ALIENS. they turned indiana jones into close encounters!!!!!!!! there were way too many problems with what happened to make me enjoy it. i understand that in some films you have to switch ya brain off and just enjoy the movie but this was taking the preverbial p155!!!! how the hell could he survive a nuclear explosion in a lead lined fridge!? the sword fight on the back of the vehicles? vine swinging like tarzan??? the damned UFO???? the CG (computer graphics) were really shoddy. so many times i turned away in disgust at little things they should have done for real and not with computer animation. indiana jones was always a franchise that had some sense of believability behind it. at times it pushed the boundaries granted but on the whole were ok. this wasnt. it just bugged me so much. i really tried to enjoy this as a film, but couldnt get my head through it. i did like how they had little parts throughout the film to acknowledge the previous indy encounters. the soundtrack was amazing. and even through the rubbish and implausable action scene's i found myself humming along. i wouldnt go and see this again and wouldnt recommend it to anyone for anything more then a dvd rental. please dont ruin your image of indy like i have done.

transformers was my fave kids program. but i knew a live action version would have to make alot of sacrifices (like killing jazz damnit) but at least with that it was a new film concept and you could switch off and enjoy. indy already had the base film franchise that we have seen and loved. you just cant switch off with it.

aliens and predators tearing it up in cool scenes
#18
it would have been great if they got rid of those stupid teen actors who were worth as much screen time as a used tissue!

Yer i saw it yesterday

The plot was ridiculous - cate blanchett was rubbish -- what the hell was with the tarzan swinging on the vines
Shia lebeouf was way underused and why bring back a cast member from the first film

Plus harrison was too old imo

Mine to (Well top of about 5 must see's) and the Jazz thing was asahame but was not the worst thing, it really got on my tits that Bumblebee was not a Beatle but they had what I thought was going to be bumblebee right next to him in the shop :( also I they could never change chape at will to different cars. It was good but annoying. Indie was prob my best film fanchasie to so looking forward to my childhood being shattered more.

Indy's worth watching once so don't be too put off. That Shia kid acted well, which suprised me because im not really a big fan of his.... I would say watch it, but just don't expect anything that will blow you away.

And go on a wednesday as well so you save yourself a couple of quid. Might make you feel better about spending the money to watch the film, lol...

Wait until Thundercats movie comes out too...I'm gonna cry for a month!

Maybe you've just grown up since the last one..? :p The original film was a bit of fun, had a big soundtrack and and contained some good one-liners, but it's only really memorable because of the huge marketing campaign that came with it. A film famous for being famous? You're probably just not pulled in by that nonsense any more... (Better keep my head low - here comes the onslaught of Indy fans with their swords drawn!)

avp 2 was dire, transformers was good, but the special effects i found were too quick! and you couldnt tell whart was happening.
Indiana jones i have heard mixed reviews, i dont think it would be half as good as the other 3.

just seen Indy 4....I liked it.....to be honest its not any different from the originals....

same humour, same style, same look....yeah some of the CGI was dodgy but it adds character..... remember the snake seen in Raiders? When you can see the reflection in the glass.....its all part of it....

No real difference at all....just doesn't have the nostalgia around it......so will NEVER be able to live up to the originals

Problem is we all grew up with it so we make it better than it actually is because of the memories attached

Same with Die Hard 4....I thought it was good

Besides.....ignoring the originals....there still better films than all the pap around at the moment (SICK of rubbish slasher films etc)

I will say however....Star Wars prequels were definitely rubbish!!

Hancock has been reviewed a few times on Aint it Cool and they're basically saying the current cut is the worst summer blockbuster ever made. More Won't Smith than Will Smith.

Saw IJ4 today, i'm rating it 6.5/10, not as bad as I had presumed it'd be, much better than National Treasure 2, some of the nicest retro Americana scenes since Back to the Future and a good few chase sequences but nothing that'd stick in the memory once the proper summer films come out. Actually, the nuclear blast is pretty good- might be something I remember.

well saw it the other day, its not a bad film, pretty good i would say. What let it down for me is the vine swinging- i mean come on, and also the ending left me confused tbh lol.
