Couldn't agree with you more! Not being sexist here but i assume from the name Holly you're a girl? No girl I know would ever dare to go near a Tarantino film!

I've not seen that but i do like the different perspective sort of films.

JUST PUTTING THIS OUT THERE, probably will get hate for this (or hopefully agree-r's),

I genuinely felt sorry for the German soldiers during the scene where one says he got his cross for his bravery. Then gets beaten to death.
POOR NAZI'S :?

Its classic Tarantino which is never a bad thing. I really enjoyed and could easily watch it again but I would say it is long at around 2 1/2 hours. Not knocking it though the pace is good as is the story and acting.

Thanks for reminding me to clear the inbox :)

but hopefully no one will be offended, i feel like i've justified it enough. We all know they were scum, i just felt Tarantino did something special to make me feel sorry for that soldier.

its brilliant, must see film. The built up sequences to the big scenes were quality, this is gonna be one big movie

Superb. My favourite character has to be Hans Landa. Never seen that actor before, but he was brilliant! The acting and Italian accent of Brad Pit cracked me up!

Very much this.... loved the way that he pulled off being ruthlessly sinister and nutty as a fruitcake at the same time.

Overall, an excellent film.

I really liked it, I was lucky enough to go to a free screening but I would have happily paid to see it :)

Good film. It was mentioned to me later if the whole basterds group were removed, the film would't miss much as the pacing would be faster- but I would rather its current form then to miss out on the tavern scene. Aparently the film doesn't fully grasp the concept of jewish revenge but it's enjoyable nethertheless

Just my personal opinion ....

The QT film that he's been wanting to make for years. There was talk of Sly and Arnie being in QT movie about WWII but it never came to pass. What a movie that might have been. Shame that as "Inglorious Basterds" is a crap.

Did I just say a QT film was crap? YES! Whilst not as bad as "Deathproof" and "Planet Terror", Inglorious is 2.5 hours of tedium with 2 or 3 reasonably tense moments thrown in for dramatic effect. It's an hour (at least) too long and could have done with some drastic editing to reduce the boredom levels. As for the Basterds themselves, they're hardly involved - the film is based more on the jewish owner of a cinema who wants to kill the German elite attending a premier.

I was expecting a tongue in cheek, albeit a lot more violent, version of something like "The Dirty Dozen", "Kellys Heroes" or the seminal "Where Eagles Dare" but IG doesn't come close to these classics. I know copying their formula wouldn't have been original and QT wants to think of himself as unique but the point is that he copies so many other things, whats the difference? Take the soundtrack to IG, there is no original score / music. He's lifted music - including a Bowie track (in a WWII movie?!) - from other movies instead of getting a composer to give the film it's own score.

This film could have been brilliant. In fact it SHOULD have been one of the films of the year but it's failed miserably. The trouble is, QT is surrounded by "Yes Men" who think his ideas are 'awesome man' (sic) and won't say "NO! That's *****!" and with these around he'll carry on turning out rubbish. I long for the heady days of "Pulp Fiction" and the superb "Jackie Brown", even Kill Bill but the Inglorious Basterds is another Inglorious QT Failure.
