injured bird

hi my cat brought a bird in last night which was still alive, i think it was injured before my cat caught it as i noticed it in the garden before hand, my cat has probably added to its injuries and it cant fly, after struggling to get it out last night the poor thing is still stuck in my garden and im worried my cat might try to attack it again. is there anypoint in ringing the rspca as last time i rang about a stray cat they didnt seem interested, but i feel sorry for the poor bird and dont want it to suffer. its a biggish bird similar size to a pigeon/blackbird.

I heard that's what they do to the injured people coming back from Afghanistan.

Kinda cruel, but if it can't fly or is suffering it may be more humane to put it out of it's misery

lol id rather he didnt catch anything, he brought a bird in in the night once what was still alive and we were woke up by it squarking and running round the bedroom, it was a nightmare trying to catch it when we were half asleep. the one that come in last night ended up jumping into my dryer, thank god there were no clothes in it.

i know the felling, all the birds in have in my bedroom end up screaming and running around in the middle of the night.... after effect of rohypnol.

Theres a place near me you can take them to. Out of hours theres a box with some bread and stuff in.

You can make the effort if you want, but it will probably die from the injuries and stress anyway.

My cat brought us an injured bird this morning - well to be honest, it brought us it's entire wing and left side of it's chest!! I wonder if the rspb can help? (_;)

the only way the rspca will do anything is if the tv crews are there

you'd be better off ringing it's neck rather than ringing them.

then ditch the cat - if you don't like what it does naturally you should think again.

dogs are better anyway.

i rang them and they said to take it to my local vet, so if its still there tomorrow then i will do that. i do prefer dogs but havent got time for one. my cats a good cat, its not often he brings presents home and only brings them in as we have a cat flap.
