Injured pigeon in my front garden - is there someone I can call?

Evening all.

OH noticed pigeon in our front garden at lunchtime and it still hasn't moved away from where it was earlier.

Is there some place I can call and they will come and take it to be looked at?

Thanks

Don't mess with nature? so if you were sick you wouldn't get treatment? Or are there limits?
#14
Just called the RSPCA and they asked me to take it to my local vet who will treat it for free

I had the same thing happen and i found a number on the internet to call, think it was the rspca. As the pigeon had a ring on its leg it was obviously someones pet. The number i called managed to trace it's owner by the serial number on it's leg and they came to collect it and were extremely grateful.

survival of the fittest, you don't see lions calling the prides lion ambulance service when a zebra snake or othe african land based creature inflicts some damage.

i had a white pigeon in my back garden for two days, took it to the vet but i think they just put it down (so they told me a few days later). i dont think they can release them back into the wild (vermin?)

to much hassle if the thing is already injured then a swift leg drop would be more than adequate.

This happened to me a few years ago. The RSCPA suggested that I capture it by throwing a blanket over it and carefully put it in a safe place overnight away from cats etc. I put it in the garage with some bread and water and the next day it flew off fine. I think that it was just exhausted,

I keep pigeons and they are healthier thyan most of the vermin who roam our streets.

The people you need to contact are the Royal Pigeon Racing Association if it has a ring on.
They will sort it out for you. Meanwhile a box with water will help.

All the RPRA departments can be contacted on 01452 713529 and if you are unsure of
the person you need to speak to please hold for the operator who will re-direct your call.

Even a pigeon is worth helping, bad karma to all those who said to put it out of its misery, shame on you.

Good on you for helping it out.
#37
If the pigeon belongs to someone, it will have a tag and the rspca should be able to identify it and return it to the owner, if it has no tag and its a wild pigeon, it will prob get put down. But ring the rspca anyway and let them deal with it. Its not nice to knowingly leave an animal to suffer.
#38
Put it in next doors garden, Let them deal with it.
