Inspiron 1300, wifi connection problem

Trying to sort this problem out for my nephew and i'm failing :giggle:

he has an inspiron Laptop which will not connect via wifi (but the wii connects fine). says "no wireless network in range"

Unfortunately i'm trying to sort this out for him over msn.

does this laptop have a wifi switch if so whereabouts...

my heads hurting doing so many things at once :giggle:

appreciate any help

Check the function keys - some of the recent Dell laptops have a wireless switch but for that age of laptop I believe it's a function key combo, normally Fn+F2
