i paid £400 per eye 3 years ago

i went with optical express

(cost more for anything other than basic though)

after having it done it wasn't too bad, just make sure you have someone to take you home right away and try and stay out of the wind, and expect to keep your eyes closed for 2 days and for them to be a little sore for about a week =]

My friend had it done a month or so ago. The pain after was aweful for her. She couldnt see properly for a few weeks, she had to go home from work a few times as the inks made her eyes water. HOWEVER she now has 20/20 vision and even though she had a lot of pain she said she'd do it again for the results she has. Having it done wasn't half as bad as she thought she said.

No studies have been done effectively into the long term effects of it.

My friend had it done - she says the results are amazing.
She had both eyes done - during the first one they offered her valium for the laser process to relax her and she said 'No, I don't need that, it'll be fine' and for the second one 'Give me as much as you can' :w00t:

My friend said the first one without the valium was very scary seeing the machine and then laser going into your eye whilst the eye was clamped open, but with the second one when she was drugged up and knew what was going to happen it was ok.

Mellow Yellow

don't let this put you off!

actually looking at this i can't believe i went through with it!

not sure i could have if i watched this first.

but the captions describe it perfectly.

Got up to 3 minutes and couldn't watch the rest, was interested in getting this done later on in life but after watching that, no way.

I'll stick with my glasses.

If you can see okay with one contact lens in you might be suitable for monovision - when they just do one eye. I had this done at a trial at Moorfields in London about 17 years ago. Now I am older I see close up with my short-sighted eye and distance with my lasered eye.
I know this sounds odd but I don't consciously switch eyes to see, but I have excellnt vision and don't need reading glasses.
t was the best thing I have ever one as my eyes were giving me so many problems with infections from lenses etc.
