According to figures found on Wikipedia Nintendo has sold 624,000,000 consoles worldwide (both home consoles and portables)

I work that out to be *roughly* 1 in 10 people in the world have owned one.

That's madness

Most families will have more than 1, we've had 3 Wii and 3 DSi.

Have you had any?

I feel a douche for owning 1 Wii, you must feel 3 times the douche for owning 3.

The 1 in 10 would only work if they were all sold at the same time.
You'd need to add the number of people who have died in the world since Ninetndo launched and add it onto the global population to get a true 1 in x people have owned one. At least I think :)

That's quite worrying in a way. Thinking about me and my friends we have certainly owned a lot of gameboys and N64's in our time, interesting fact though cheers

I've owned a Gameboy Original and Gameboy Colour.

My bro had one, sold it, bought a black one, mum has one and never uses it.

I think I'm the only sane one in my family...

That cant possibly be right. 1 in 10? What about parts of africa that have no electricity? I think you need to recalculate your figure.

You say "fact" in the title but do you know how Wikipedia works.

The Wii doesn't need to use electricity. There are hundreds of thousands of Wii owners in the Western World who haven't felt the need to supply electricity to their Wii consoles in months, even years.

Damn, how do you combine two pointless posts into one pointless post anyway?
