You can't. Their internet is different to ours, just like their water and electricity. HTH.

Ignore him

You need a localised Internet WLAN control module. Once you get to Benidorm, you will need to carry out a WiFi re-install using the original ISP

Be careful though, abroad's Internet is broadcast at 800GHz/km - the UK is 1000ohms/sec so you may need a transducer

If your hotel abroad has WiFi they may or may not charge you to access this

If not, go to the shop that supplies your mobile and get a dongle.......it will come with instructions on how to set up andd access whilst you are away

You don't mention where you are going but in most major tourist destinations you should find numerous bars/McDonalds/Subway/Burger King etc that advertise free wifi - as long as you are buying a drink etc then you should find there is no problem in using their wifi service free of charge. Most McDonald's will have the password shown at the Desk and in bars etc that advertise free wifi, you just need to ask them for their password.

We have been to the Algarve (twice), Majorca and Zante in the last 6 months and each resort had numerous bars that advertised free wifi (had no problem in using my netbook). Your netbook should automatically pick up the wifi signal and then just a case of entering the password that the bar/restaurant supply you with.

Usually, unless you are somewhere remote, most cafe's and restaurants will allow you to access the internet via their wifi connection when you order something. You can get a dongle to access the net via the mobile phone network but these are not cheap to run.

Never been to Madeira before? You're in for a good time! From the plane landing (amazing experience as the airport is at the end of the island right on the sea so the plane flies just above the sea, takes a heft turn right and then lands. On a clear day it's a major event.)

We stayed at the CS Madeira last year - 5 star spa which is rather special. If you get a chance, go to Reids Palace for lunch/dinner. It's pretty expensive but I'd say it's the best meal you'll have on the Island.

There is another restaurant right next to CS Madeira that is also amazing. Looks nothing from the outside, just an old archway, but it takes you right down the front and you sit overlooking the sea - food is amazing.

Just looked on the map, you are just around the corner from the CS Madeira. If you look slightly to the left of where you are and look at the sea front, you can see two swimming pools next to each other with a long 'pier' next to each one - this is the CS Madeira. To the left of this is the restaurant I spoke about.

You are right opposite Reid's Palace.

We're staying a little away from Funchal this year - going http://www.meliamadeira.com/en

You'll have a great time - the most relaxing holiday I've had in years.

Enjoy!
