While most browsers have this option now, I think that Avant is more capable than the others in this area. I especially like the Autofill feature. I tried the similar function in Firefox, but the problem there is that it seems to be only able to store one form for each website, whereas Avant can store multiples. This is great for Web based emails.

My personal favourate is Opera. It always amazed me when Firefox was first launched to hear all these people (many, such as IT journalists, who should have known better) go on about how great and innovative it was because it had all these 'new' features, such as Tabbed Browsing, etc. given that most of those features had already been implimented in Opera for such a long time that I just took them for granted.

That's not to say Opera is the best, because all the different Browsers have their advantages/disadvantage - it's just my personal favourate. Nowadays, most the top browsers are so good that it really comes down to personal taste, so it is definitely worth trying out a few to see which suits your way of working the best.

Nightswimmer - very much agree with you there, I'm a big fan of Opera and it irritates me that Firefox gets credit for features that Opera introduced. I started off with Opera when I was having problems with IE6 on a new XP build (just when it came out), it worked well on my Zaurus so I decided to give it a go on the desktop and never looked back. I find Opera to be a good polished package out of the box, it's great they are always adding in new features - wasn't too bothered about the speed dial but finding it useful on a tablet style system.

I used Avant for years and thought it great until I tried Firefox. FF is light years ahead especially with all the Add-ons you can use. My favourites are Gutils, Colortabs,Foxmarks & Adblock. Any other "must have" FF extensions?

With being on a mac I tend to use Safari. However, I think that it is lagging behind in the add-on scene. It has adblock which works wonders but a much tinier selection than firefox (which I also use on my mac if I need the add-ons).

As a graphics student, Safari displays images in their real colours. Firefox does not. Most haven't noticed this as the difference is only minor. But to an artist, it matters. So Safari for me!

Thanks for the advice  I'm gonna give avant a try for now, and see how it goes..

Believe me when I say FF is in a different league to Avant & IE. Avant is just a front end for IE so very slow compared to FF. Hardly any add-ons for Avant whereas the skys the limit for FF.

Yep Avant\Max are wrappers around IE, so any flaws in the engine they'll pickup on. Opera is a good browser, same for Firefox - Konqueror is also pretty good if you're using a Linux Distro (and I *think* there may be some plans for a Windows port)

Opera is great haven't tried avant. Mozilla has a lot of spyware and other junk

I've only used Safari a little since V3 on windows, but find it renders pages faster than most other browsers but Firefox is still my browser of choice, mainly for it's web developer add-ons. I think for the average internet user each have their merits and it comes down to personal choice. IE is an absolute pain when it comes to testing a site which you know displays pretty much the same in Firefox, Opera, and Safari....because it's never 100% right in IE.
