are you using wireless or wiired?
#2
The PC which isnt working is wired

The laptop is wireless.
#3
Try turning your firewall off
#4
tried. it is basically saying everything is 0.0.0.0
#5
Also switch off all the security on the router and see if you can connect then

sorry I presumed you was wireless, an p address of 0.0.0.0 means that the router hasn't asigned your pc an IP address

In network connections makesure the LAN is enabled

Check the cable hasn't been damaged

Failing that you can turn DCHP off on the router and assign yourself a static ip address

Turn the router off..reboot..then turn router back on.

Try this mate - make sure that 'obtain the IP automatically' is checked on all bits (including the alternative bit I highlighted).

If that doesn't work, on your lappy, get the IP settings (start>run>cmd and type 'ipconfig /all') and copy them into the window, instead of using 'automatic'.

I was told to do what you said but to move the ip up by 10 so eg: if it was 111.111.111.111 to change it to 111.111.111.121

It said conected but wasnt recieving any packets.

The Ip address shoul be something like;

192.168.0.1 for your router

Then anything connected should have something lke;

192.168.0.2
192.168.0.3

So if you check the IP address of te laptop and move the last number up i.e the 192.168.0.2 part

Have you changed the router from the default setting to assigning IPs? if so you will also need to manually set the wired network connection.

Right click the network connectionon the taskbar(near the time and date) and repair it.

Wait for it to finish repairing and its should work

I'm pretty sure if you set it to "obtain ip automatically" it would definetly work, if not try contacting your ISP mate..

That's your best shot at it, if you don't want to go through endless forums regarding this.
