The Beta 2 version of Internet Explorer 8 is now available for free if anybody want to try it...

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/beta/default.aspx

Being a Beta version, it's still at an early stage of development, but there are some great new features in it.

For instance, don't you hate it when you accidentally close the entire browser? With IE8 you can reopen your last session, or last set of tabs so you don't lose where you were at.

And you can keep an eye on sites which frequently update by using Web Slices, which puts the part of a Web page you want to check in the Favourites Bar at the top of the screen. When the site is updated, the Slice is highlighted so you don't miss out.

Yeah I tried it, and it really sucks. And its near impossible to return to IE7 once you've loaded IE8 on. Seriously, I wouldn't bother, the features that are usable are already available in firefox 3, and tried and tested

been using it a few days.

its not bad few minor niggles like forgetting my passwords and some websites have problems (like this one) but that is solved by clicking the cracked piece of paper next to the refresh icon to run the website in compatiability mode.

Brilliant, time for a restore.

IE just seems to be about 2 years behind firefox. The above features have been available for years!

I'm just trying the IE8 beta as having a bash with the Windows 7 beta. HUKD looks horrendous in it!

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk276/b33r69/hukd.jpg

Not trying to be funny but its HUKD and the online banks fault for not complying to web standards, another failure in the HUKD site re-design, I really hope you didn't pay for it! lol.

The only reason a lot of sites work in firefox is cus they had to write in the ability to render horribly coded web sites otherwise no regular web users would have started using it if it only displayed web compliant pages.
