Internet Security for Children - What are you all using.
I need some guidance please.....I am really concerned that 6 and 7 year old find videos on youtube of cartoons etc but sometimes these are uploaded by dubbed aimed at adults. I want to completely restrict their internet access. I have set up a new user account for them, i like to use google chrome but will consider any browser that can do this. Basically I only want those website to appear which I chose. for example their school homework or cbeebies or child friendly sites and no other sites. I googled around and just cant find a straigh forward way to do this. I understand you can do this via your antivirus, now I use AVG and the parental control feature is at an additional cost. However I have a couple of options. I am with virgin broadband and i believe they offer a free parental control feature. Via my bank I also get free subscription to Kaspersky 2012. I used kaspersky a couple of yr ago and found it brought my machine down to a standstill, it was painfully slow. Im not sure if things have improved. I was just wondering what other are using out there, which is simple to control and yet robust enough. Thanks in advance.

Downloaded Kaspersky (if you bank with Barclays you get it Free access to put on 3 machines) it has a brilliant Parental Control feature where you can BLOCK all sites apart from those you exclude and you make this feature relevant to each user account. So I set up their own user account, i added a dozen child friendly sites, and blocked everything else. Amazingly it means they cannot search anything either, so they can only ever access the sites i provide access to. Just what I wanted for them.
