Is your ebay username specifically included in the email?
#2

delete it as its prob spoof email and if you do go thru the link and type in your details the sender will have your password etc.

It's a spoof.

Hope you didn't click on the link.

If you did, then log onto ebay through your browser and change your password.

It's the same with Paypal spoofs....the genuine article will always address you by name.

I agree with everybody, (wow, that makes a change, who can I argue with now, lol). If you clicked on an email link and signed in to your ebay account you must change that password ASAP. If you use that password for Paypal or any other account such as Amazon, you must change them as well.
All ebay messages will be sent to you ebay message box as well email.
ALL Paypal messages/emails will start with your name.

So easily done.

The question from ebay member spoof nearly got me. Luckily I had nothing on sale at the time.

Found an archive of scams which maybe useful for some

I can confirm the havoc a hijacked account can cause.:-( :-(

Yes quickly change your password asap. Almost 100% certain a spoof. Never ever click on a link in a eBay email. I think to prevent this official PayPal emails don't even have links anymore (am I right here or making this up?).

They still have links. My CC had run out and I got a reminder because one of my payments had failed. This was an official email with my name on it etc.

I still went though my browser and not the email though :)

Ah ok - guess I was just thinking of PayPal never asking for account info in an email, always goes through the site.

I think eBay/PayPal etc should look at not including links period and get people into the habit of typing in the url instead - if everyone got in the habit then these scam emails would suffer a lot.

I agree, some of these spoofs are very realistic/authentic looking.

I remember a Paypal 'spokesperson' on ebays P&P board, saying that Paypal would be looking into doing what ebay do with your messages, having a message box in your Paypal account so you could 'check' if the message was genuine. That was about 18 months ago and nothings happened.:-(

Glad you got it sorted :)

Is your Paypal password the same or similar to your old Ebay password?

If you use the same email address and password they could get into paypal also.
