as me and the missus have had our's delivered, say for example she decided to keep her's

does anyone no what the rules would be with regards to not selling over the RRP as no one really no's 100% what the genuine RRP for these are (as no 100% confirmed details have been released yet)

maybe a mod could clear this up ??

No doubt the marketplace will be getting saturated with these on Ebay soon...best bet would be to keep an eye on Ebay too see how much the average one will sell for..as for the RRP if people want it so badly they won't care about the RRP if they cannot get a contract with O2..wouldn't surprise me if they went for £300 a time to be honest.

So whats it like mate? Any better than the current one except for the 3G part?

King1gazza to be honest i have not even opened it yet lol, GerryG seen them for £400+ on ebay already but then everything gets sold for more on there

thats $199 on contract surely ??

I'd guess you couldnt sell for more than $199 as steve jobs stated they would be sold for this therefore that would be my guess of the RRP. As you were not allowed to sell 2g ones for more than £269 (8gb) (RRP for phone before contract)

But you'd need to contact a mod to clarify this.

there's some listing on ebay for around £499....

I think we can safely assume (from reading around) that PAYG will be £399 but not until Christmas. I think this is what we should consider the RRP to be. Anything over that is silly money (and some will say £399 is also silly money!)

Same as the 2g ones were £269 on contract and people were not allowed to sell them here for more than that without any extra's thrown in.

Crazy, what some impatient people are willing to pay. At the end of the day if you've got the money fair enough...but theres phones out there for a fiver and less LOL,

the iPhone is a great bit of kit though!

Bear in mind the Iphone and Iphone 3G are quite different in terms of initial price - the original Iphone was sold basically unsubsidised which is why people were able to take them home without contract and unlock them to do with as they wished. The Iphone 3G price is subsidised (as with most mobile handsets on contract) which is why it's lower and you need to have it activated and signed up on a contract.

The subsidised price cannot be used to establish RRP, if it was then most phones here would be given away free as that's the subsidised cost on contract. A PAYG price is more useful in establishing RRP, although it's not entirely accurate as PAYG phones can be a bit cheaper than sim free it's the closest there is going to be for the Iphone.
