IPHONE 3gs - Faulty Speaker

My Iphone has given up, the speaker is very quiet when on a call, therefore I have to use the loud speaker.. (yes the volume is up!)

In regards to getting it fixed, as its still 6 months old whats the best process of getting it fixed ?

I puchased it from Vodafone, (out of contract), so my first point of contact will be them to see what they suggest.

I recall reading somewhere in here maybe, that you can take any APPLE product into the Apple store and they will fix it for you under warrenty? is this the case ? (I think i would prefer Apple to fix it than Vodafone, plus its easier for me to get to the Apple store than my local Vodafone store on an evening.

Any tips or advice ?

Cheers

Dont! It will cost you money to do that. My son's had the same problem. It's normal usage & detritis in your pocket / bag. just take a fine needle nad gentlt insert into the speaker holes and 'flick out' any debris. It will be as good as new. Honest (don't go too far in the holes)X)

NOOOO... it won't.

As it is apparently 6 months old it will be in warranty and they WILL fix it/replace it for FREE.
